damn if only this thread was made on Thursday.. but for future reference, is there such thing as prepaid data for the states?
I don't care about having a phone, I want to use the data on my phone for navigation and restaurant reviews. | No, I don't believe so. AT&T used to have it (it was technically WAP only on top of a voice PAYG but apparently worked for EDGE & 3G data) but they closed up that loophole.
You're stuck with a month to month if you want data or just work with Wifi hotspots. (or equivalent services like Boingo which is what I use if I'm travelling to the US)
If you're with Rogers, don't they offer a $10 US data plan?
EDIT: Just checked here and it's an extra $10 for a US/Canada data with roaming data being $1/MB instead of whatever ripoff rate they'd normally charge. |
