Where can you buy a US GSM card in Vancouver?

Hey, anyone know if there are places that sell and activate US GSM cards here in Vancouver? Want to get one before heading down there.

If you don't find one in Vancouver, you can always head to eBay and have it mailed to you if you don't plan to go down right away.

damn if only this thread was made on Thursday.. but for future reference, is there such thing as prepaid data for the states?

I don't care about having a phone, I want to use the data on my phone for navigation and restaurant reviews.

No, I don't believe so. AT&T used to have it (it was technically WAP only on top of a voice PAYG but apparently worked for EDGE & 3G data) but they closed up that loophole.

You're stuck with a month to month if you want data or just work with Wifi hotspots. (or equivalent services like Boingo which is what I use if I'm travelling to the US)

If you're with Rogers, don't they offer a $10 US data plan?

EDIT: Just checked here and it's an extra $10 for a US/Canada data with roaming data being $1/MB instead of whatever ripoff rate they'd normally charge.

yeah i saw that but you have to add the $10 to your monthly plan, no good if you go to the states for only 3 days every year haha.

Couldn't you just add it on for a month and just get it taken off when you get back? If you could, it'd still be a pretty cheap alternative.
