Benz W124?

Looking at buying a 300TE Benz Wagon, has anyone here owned one?

Anyone know what I should be looking out for, big issues or expensive repairs?

I'm looking over at Benzworld too but I thought I would check Revscene...

I used to have a 92' 300TE-24 DOHC and it was a great vehicle. Dont know about the post 92 TE's that much but the DOHC engine had some ignition wiring and head gasket issues. Make sure those are sorted out, if the engine is in peak condition, or it has been professionally refreshened. Also like most mercedes, the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) is always a random issue. Not a big problem expensive fix though. Good luck on your search.

126 is wayy more comfy and indestructable but
benz very durable so if the lifter ( loud ticking (solid noise)) doesnt knock ur good it means the guy has warmed his car when cold
