can i take over a person's account from fido and use it as my own?

my dad is thinking of going to prepaid and im wondering if i can just be the new primary user of the account that my dad had for years and possibly have pretty good pull with retentions since his contract is almost up as well. so im just wondering if i take over the account, would i have the same bargaining power as if my dad was negotiating a new plan. eg. they would treat me as if i was a 10 year member of fido and give my plan some upgrades on retention.

Simple answer, No

Complicated answer, Yes you will be able to transfer the name to your account, assuming that you pass the credit evaluation that they do. You will not have the same bargaining power because when you transfer the account to your name, the whole account will be set as NEW, so there would not be any past history, and thus reducing your bargaining power with retentions. Your best bet is to just put yourself as an "authorized user" and give yourself a "level-1 authorized user". Having a "level-1" entitles you to do anything the primary user can do, so its basically the samething, except without having you on the account.

Hope this helps!
