New sponsor Total Visage GPS Vehicle Recovery Systems
Hello forum members,
we are Total Visage would like to introduce ourselves. Our mission is to reduce auto theft by recovering vehicles and eliminating vehicles damaged through apprehension. Our product is a GPS tracker that costs $199 and has no subscription fees. Our Vehicle Recovery System can also cut the vehicle's fuel pump thus letting the stolen vehicle coast to a stop instead of blowing lights and engaging in a high speed chase.
How are our units so cheap? Units without a subscription fee will not be activated until you call us and tell us your vehicle is stolen. If you do not need to know where your vehicle is every 5 minutes, this unit is for you.
Our trackers have reception anywhere there is a cellular tower. If your vehicle is shipped overseas or your vehicle gets stolen while on vacation, we can recover your vehicle.
Our units are guaranteed to operate or your money back. Please contact us for further details.
Some common myths:
My vehicle has an immobilizer: a growing number of vehicles come standard with immobilizers and while this is stumping amateur thieves, the number of professional thieves remain constant. These are the groups that target and do their research and have the lowest number of recovery rates throughout North America. These groups will replicate your keys, take the keys from your house, or simply tow it out.
My vehicle has a factory GPS system:
The six out of the top ten stolen vehicles for Canada in 2009 were high end SUV's with factory (NoStar) system
Since this is an automotive enthusiast forum, we know the members have a passion for cars and would generally like to keep their property their own.
Even if you drive a beater, if your modifications are worth more than $200 or if insurance will not cover the full amount of your vehicle, we strongly recommend you give us a call.
If you need to contact us, please call 1-877-231-4324 ext 5 or email us info@totalvisage.com
Currently our units are available for installation at N-Motion, Sorat or Rise JDM Salon. We will update our dealer list as more stores carry our product.
Below are demo and install videos. You can watch in 720p HD as the default 240p is too grainy.
Is there an option available for motorcycles and/or scooters or is this product strictly for vehicles?

yup we tested it by the office (both tracking and shutting the fuel pump on the video)
few automakers have a similar version, just not the same coverage or low cost that we are offering.
as an enthusiast myself, I feel that our new company will first cater to enthusiasts as they are already buying stuff for their cars and love them more so then a bone stock family grocery getter.
This looks like a sweet product. The best thing about it is there's no monthly fee, and $200 is very affordable!
Once a customer notifies you of their stolen car. Do you handle contacting the police or will you just hand over the location and let the customer do the rest?
oops! we handle it from there. we call the local police and when they're on the scene and it is safe to do so, we shut down the fuel pump.
With other GPS products, you need to grab your phone/go online and call the police. That takes valuable time! With our company, you call us and we send the fuzz.
We are talking to other shops but they are all very busy with the show n shine this weekend.
any chance there will be a site set-up for owners to monitor their car, check current speed of the car, and even cut off fuel supply themselves?
E.g.
lent my car to my girlfriend, suspect her of cheating on me, use the GPS to track where the fuck he lives and then come down there and shoot dat mofo up?

that's a pretty good use... i remember the shop parts car was taken one time... we should probably get one of these for our show/dd performance car

Show DD car?
i don't recall having one of those
i guess i gotta check the back lot for it
what color?
please don't tell me its that shitty beat up blue RSX in the back, cuz i just blew the motor on that one, on my coffee run..... No tuning = shit
We do not have that available for Canada at the moment. That is more fleet tracking and those require monthly fees.
Plus due to varying privacy laws throughout the world, our lawyer recommended that this item be excluslively used for stolen vehicle recovery at present.
Very tempting. A few questions, though... Is there someone available at all hours of the day/night in order to flick the kill switch? What sort of adaptors do you have in order to tap into an OEM GPS antenna? Oh, and you mention that so long as there's cell service, you can connect with the car. Is that so you can kill the fuel pump, or is cell service required in order to connect and track the GPS? I thought that so long as the receiver could be picked up by a satellite, you'll be able to track it.

For the receiver to capture GPS coordinates, all they would need is view of 3+ satellites; however, for the unit to communicate those coordinates back to the server, that's when you need the cell coverage.

see? this is why we need this system!
so we don't have to replace that k20 with a frank k24
to kill the fuel just cell coverage. then if the thief removed the GPS or is using a jammer, we would ask the police to triangulate the vehicle from within the towers.
if you're able/willing to get the software out to each user to track the car themselves, you can save so much money on your part, i'd still buy it for $1000 let alone $200.
Might be a stupid question, but if you were to place the GPS unit on the windshield like your video suggests, what happens if the thief sees it and rips it apart? Would you still be able to track it?
you can install it in the rear window or hide it in a fake speaker enclosure, behind an air freshner or tucked right up the rearview mirror... just need to be creative.
if the thief brings a GPS jammer, police can triangulate the cellphone tower signal to get a rough area. We can still shut the fuel pump even if the GPS signal is being jammed. If they bring a GSM jammer (which is illegal but alas IS possible to get online), the GSM jammer usually have a broad band spectrum so every signal is blocked (lojack, onstar, our unit, etc).
In my civic I know the fuel pump is right under my back seats. So lets say someone does steal my car all it would take is for the thief to rip up my back seats and connect those 2 wires that were split and the pump would turn back on wouldn't it?

Do you think a thief has that much time or knowledge to trouble shoot whats wrong with the car. Once the car stops do think he is going to spend time to figure out whats wrong or just run. I think there is no way a thief will be able to figure out whats wrong with the car before the police come.
