What kind of glass?
But anyways, I'd just google map "glass", then call them up and see if your friend can take away their inevitable odds and ends, and scraps.
If he's looking or a big sheet, then good luck, that's not going to happen.

There is a place in PoCo, called the Glass Station or something like that.
Ok, you're in luck. I decided to be nice and look up the website: http://www.glassstation.ca/about_us.htm
I drive by this place everyday for work, and it looks like they have piles of used looking glass. Their yard is fairly big, so I'm sure they'll have something that would work for you.
If that doesn't work, you CAN call Broco Autoglass... they will do custom glass orders for you. At least the one in Coquitlam will...

Vancouver Glass...located on Hastings/Commercial. http://www.vancouverglass.ca/
They cut all sizes of glass...I deal with them mostly with property management stuff...
Last time, my tenant asked me to cut a new glass for the fridge panel...they cut exact size and trim the edges, received it in 2 days. Cost me less than $25 CDN.
Good Luck.
