~~~ Bonny's Taxi extreme road rage !!! ~~~
Hi, guys, I just have to let this out:
Today I was on Boundary, just pass Hastings, that steep down hill, I was going south in the center lane, a white Bonny's Taxi out of no where, comes out of an ally way, doesn't even look and cuts across the lanes, puts himself right in front of me, I of course emergency slam on the brakes, and sounds the horn out of reflex. What happens next blows me away, this taxi slams on his brake, comes to a dead stop in front of me, I barely stopped in time, nearly rear ending him. He then comes out of his car, gives me the middle finger, and waves his fists at me. About 30 seconds later, 2 other Bonny's taxi pulls up in front of me and joins him! I immediately called 911, when they saw me talk on the phone, they went back and took off. I gave the vancouver police a full report, but obviously they did nothing, I did manage to get the plates:
White Bonny's Taxi - "AA 7542"
I have nothing against east indians, but is Bonny's Taxi officially the "East Indian Hell's Angels" now ??? Do they just gang up and abuse road rage? Or do they still think they're driving in east india? I seriously hope the police or RCMP reads this and puts more attention in the future. I just think this is crazy... ...
Taxi drivers are such douchebags. They really think they own the road.
I feel a similar hate that you do, especially with the ones that cut you off and don't signal, ending up being one car ahead of you for the next 10 kms.
Seriously. Why all the rage, taxi douches?
You think this is bad? go see Taxi driver's in HK... even as a passenger (having driver) most of the time, i get angry...
and i'm usually a pretty calm guy driving here, unless some stupid TSX tries to intentionally RAM me off knight bridge...
exhil 08-28-2010 03:10 AM
i know how you feel.
usually granville street is where all the taxi just go nuts on the road.
JSALES 08-28-2010 06:03 AM
Should have drove around everywhere if they were going to follow you. Every minute they waste driving around with customers, they're not making money, haha.
You did the right thing phoning the police. The next thing to do would be to also phone Bonny's and talk to a manager. Let them know, as well. They don't want their drivers acting like that because it reflects poorly on the company.
When I worked the Westin a few years back, we had taxi cab drivers fighting over customers - in the driveway, in front of the customers. Both from the same taxi company!!! Unacceptable. I phoned the management and told them to make sure they never send those drivers to our location ever again.
Most cab companies do actually put drivers on probation and/or fire them if they get enough complaints.
Typical taxi drivers.
I'll assume you just missed this cause you were still pissed when you posted but I could just picture you shaking your fist at the guy and yelling, "GO BACK TO EAST INDIA!!!!!!"
My friend told me another story that happen to his friend in downtown. A black guy called bonny's taxi, when the cab came, he out right refused to let the black guy in, the cab said "I don't drive your kind." The black guy was like "what the F" and called the cops, then a whole shit load of bonny's taxi showed up around him, lucky the cop came told them to get lost...
HongKong isnt even as bad as China.
Lane changes occur more than your heart beats in a minute and they do it at 100km/h + on city roads. I thought i was going to die.
Our rule about yielding and right of way, you do that in china or even hk your a sitting duck all day.
Wow Bonny's bad rep.
You can file a complaint with the taxi department:
One one you need to learn if you counter a raging EI taxi driver: sala panchod.
CanadaGoose 08-28-2010 02:36 PM
Hell, I notice these taxi drivers sometimes make a immediate right turn on a left lane in downtown.
Whatever you do, do not tell the driver that you are running a little late for a flight. I thought I was going to die in a Santana that morning.
JSALES 08-28-2010 06:39 PM
do taxi drivers have the right to refuse to give you a ride if one of your friend's is passed out drunk?
Zyzz 08-28-2010 07:41 PM
lol i always follow taxi's cause most of the time they pick the fastest lane on busy streets in here and in hk
never had that kind of experience u mentioned though
hirevtuner 08-28-2010 09:04 PM
i always see taxis in front of me and make a sudden u-turn or some other shit
i always try my best to just cut them off and pass them especially the corolla taxis
BEEB 08-28-2010 10:30 PM
it's not hard to hunt him down cause there's only a few dozen of them ! You can slash his tire next time you see it !
1exotic 08-28-2010 10:39 PM
QFT. I thought I was gonna die (or be an accessory to murder) everytime I was inside a taxi in Shanghai.
