After Daryl killed the zombie ontop of Rick and Rick gave him the signal, I thought Daryl was gonna snipe that prisoner during Rick and the prisoner's confrontation.
For the guys who have read the comics, does all this happen? Like Rick and them killing them all?
And Lori..... lol I thought Herschel was gonna rip her lips off.

Its different in the comics... the leader of the prisoners and Rick were arguing about who gets to stay in the prison and in a scuffle with walkers Rick shoots the guy but makes it look like an accident and the rest of the group believe it is an accident too. Rick doesn't want the others to know that he'd kill someone just like that but eventually he says that he did it for the group and that he has to make the hard decisions.
That's how it happened AFAIK. Read the comics awhile back.

I thought that bitch was gonna be dead. My friend and I were so excited when Hershel woke up. But he wasnt a zombie yet damn it

Yeah thats right. Rick pretty much killed him like the leader in the show was trying to kill Rick. And if I remember correctly they have to kill another one of the prisoners because he rapes/murders one of Herschel's daughters (there were more in the book).
I'm really glad that they're keeping some of the characteristics of the prisoners even though they are not exploring them fully. Like the homosexual relationship between the prisoner leader and one of the other inmates in the comics. Seems similar to what the prisoner leader and the inmate Rick locked out in the courtyard. Also like how the white prisoner is very similar to one in the comic.
It kind of sucks to see that the prisoners are all getting killed off so quickly but I guess for the sake of keeping the pacing of these season up its okay
i like this fast-paced stuff...if herschel got bitten last season it would've dragged on for at least 5 episodes...I was also assuming they'd try to build some tension with the prisoners first.
disappointed lori didn't get her face bitten off.

guess they're going to skip that part of the comic
yeah.. there were some pretty graphic parts in the comics during this period.. I was interested to see how they would incorporate some of the stuff. It's nice that the series doesn't happen exactly like the comic, since there's still some mystery.
I'm glad they killed off the leader prisoner so fast. As soon as you got the first whiff of him being a douche you had a feeling they would drag it on for like another 4 episodes. That's definitely what would have happened in season 2 (dragging on carl's recovery, the debate whether to kill the kid or not.....THE WHOLE FUCKING FARM).
Also, as a reader of the comic this makes things feel much more fresh and unexpecting.

One of the reasons Frank Darabont is no longer running the show is because he refused to cut costs as he thought it would take away from the essence of the show. AMC wanted season 2 to be shorter and take place more indoors to reduce costs.
Since S3 is mostly indoors, they don't have to build enormous outdoor sets that look like the apocalypse. Yes, a lot of it is CG but still.
Don't think viewership increases a show's budget, especially with AMC. Breaking Bad...pretty much the best show on TV...was supposed to be just 8 episodes this year and they wanted to cut the show to 8 episodes each season in S3 already but everyone fought it. Mad Men was supposed to be reduced too even though it won Emmys like 5 years running and they're supposed to cut characters as well.

I guess they've replaced Tyrese with Daryl? I see Carol is starting to have a thing with Daryl and he's also Rick's second in command. Thoughts?
I initially thought it would have just been t-dog but it doesn't seem likely anymore..
Never read the comics but you can clearly see it happening since season 2.
There was a disgusting scene in episode 1 that stands out like a sore thumb about this. Ewwwwwww.....
