I guess this is one of those promos where I'd have to call in and ask about it?

Always Shout - Special Edition for 25$ up to a year

MaximalLazy 12-10-2010 01:21 PM

Sorry but I think there is a difference between $40 a month for Always Shout and $45 Regular price (after 1 year) for Always Shout - Special Edition ?

I don't care about the "Save $20/mo for up to 1 year." It's the fact that after 1 year, it's going to be 5 dollars more than what the picture I posted previously advertises.

Vulcan300 12-10-2010 02:40 PM

The special $40 for everything is not being advertised on the wind website. You have to ask about it to get it

RevRav 12-10-2010 07:29 PM

Fido came out with a new "everything" plan.... for $50 bucks.
- iphone NOT eligible
- NO free caller-id

Kamui712 12-10-2010 07:51 PM

^
no data add/on + no smart phone = fail.

Won't be returning to them anytime soon anyways, I called in to ask about why my final bill was so high. CSR was rude, then wouldn't let me talk to a manager... I told him this was the reason I was leaving fido (poor CSR attitudes). He says, well we won't be seeing you anytime soon so it doesn't matter.

Wouldn't it be great if you could punch ppl through the telephone?

Not really racist! 12-10-2010 08:44 PM

^ shoulda got employee # to file a complaint

those CSRS piss the shit outta me

i did get his employee number and name, he refused to transfer me to a manager bcs my Fido account was closed.

Wrote a complaint to the Office of the President, but will call back tmr to follow through with a manager, and if needed I'll send a complaint through our postal service. lol someone's got to sign off on receiving the letter at head office.

this sucks... my city fido from a year ago was better and was only $40 lol

distanc3 12-10-2010 10:19 PM

just changed my "always shout" to the 25$ plan plus social networking so its 35plus tax now. changing plans on Wind was easy and its effective right away. :)

Went through this route once. Unfortunately they suck just as much...they tried to shut me up by giving me a "good will" of $10 into my account. Wish I spend the time to continue onto Office of the Ombudsman....but really, its not worth my time at the end of the day.

skyxx 12-11-2010 12:09 AM

Damn, Wind's 40 dollar everything plan is awesome!

Kamui712 12-11-2010 12:12 AM

^ Are you currently on WIND?

How's their signal strength indoors? I'm finding that with Mobilicity I tend to lose reception when I'm deeper inside a building. I'm trying to figure out if it's due to a lack of towers... or if it's just the frequency that's unable to penetrate buildings.

willystyle 12-11-2010 12:18 AM

^ More than likely a lack of towers. I've read posts after posts on Hofo that Wind has a better network in Vancouver thus far. You should make the switch. ;)

Hi J. Are you tethering? Any limitation if so? Which phone is best with their windtab offer to do above? Still stuck with rogers but would like to make the move soon. Kudos to all these new carriers!

RevRav 12-11-2010 01:14 AM

Lets try to get this thread back to talking about Mobilicity...not wind haha

Just in time for the holidays, Mobilicity brings you two great plans and extras at a great discounted price. Enjoy Savings that will last you well past the holiday season! But hurry, this offer is only available to purchase until December 24, 2010!

i havent tried tethering yet. I got the most expensive phone under $150 which was $140 for free. if you want a free phone, thats the best one. If you want a blackberry then it's a good deal too, $150 off $499.

ilvtofu 12-11-2010 08:35 AM

Damn I'm switching my gf over to wind on that $40 blackberry plan.
She has 6 months left on her fido but even if we kept that fido on a $15 plan we would still be looking at $5 less a month... The issue now is how to port the number while she's still on contract?

Someone she some light TIA >.<

distanc3 12-11-2010 09:32 AM

^ for the love of god DO NOT cancel your account or she'll lose her number. Go to a Wind store and port but prepare to get a hefty bill from Fido. I think it was $20+tax per month still on contract, plus if you're making use of the Wind promo ($40 plan is till the 26th i think) you'll be charged with another month's worth of billing because there was no 30day notice.

not exactly sure on the procedures but dont cancel with fido because they'll close your number

ilvtofu 12-11-2010 12:07 PM

I wasn't planning on cancelling her fido, Just making it the $15 plan for the next 6 months till her contract is up. But I'm wondering if I can port the fido number to wind and put a new number on her fido plan

evil_jigglypuff 12-11-2010 11:22 PM

Not quite sure if you can transfer new number to old account. New number means new account. But once you have ported your number over then you have technically cancelled the plan on Fido.

went to mobilicity with my G1 with high hopes that it'll be fully compatible....

but it was not to be. Only G1 from USA are fully compatible with the Mobilicity data network (which requires HSDPA 1700 and 2100)

the Rogers one only has 2100.

Sensations 12-13-2010 01:15 AM

sooo how long is the free cdm thing going to last? going to whistler on the 19.

Vansterdam 12-13-2010 03:50 AM
