I wonder how much text it offers since it doesn't say unlimited either.

Teh Doucher 11-16-2010 06:12 PM

Anyone know how much I have to pay out if I cancel a 3 years contract with bell. And I'm not even one month in yet haha but that big unlimited font is really tempting.

Thanks tips however most "unlimited" plans have caps on just how "unlimited" it is with clauses about caps.

How much would you be texting? I have a 2500 txt limit on my current acct with Rogers and it pretty much is like unlimited (I text a lot).

Says on their site:
Unlimited data is truly unlimited, no GB cap, surf and downlaod as much as you canina month

Spectre_Cdn 11-16-2010 07:51 PM

The Nokia N8 should work with Mobilicity (and Wind?), right? Since it has the frequencies 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100...

probably around $500. I think the cancellation stuff is the same as rogers?

Man I wonder if rogers is going to be matching any of these newer plans. I wouldn't mind paying $40 for everything. Paying about the same but only have 500mb

Armind 11-16-2010 07:59 PM

Damn it, wish I didn't renew my contract with Fido. Coulda saved a lot of money if i combined for a family plan.

Jgresch 11-16-2010 08:04 PM

I talked to rogers today....

I can pay a flat of $500+tax to cancel (I have 2.5 years left)

Or I can pay $100 flat to cancel my data plan, and just $12 a month until my contract expires at minimum. = $460

My current plan is unlimited everything (6gb data) and is $110/month...

If I switch it will be liek $55-60/month including paying rogers....
It will take 9 months to save the $460 I have to spend to cancel :)

I just hope their service is decent.... if it ends up not being I dunno what I'll do lol

ilvtofu 11-16-2010 09:17 PM

^have you tried retentions $110/month seems really expensive, I'm with fido and I'm paying half as much and practically unlimited everything too :/

Interested to see how mobilicity plays out, 6 more months on my contract but I don't think I'll be switching. Would be cool if they threw in roaming too, because as far as usefulness goes to what I'd be paying it's about the same as fido retentions. I wouldn't be calling/texting anyone internationally anyways.

TheStig 11-17-2010 09:22 AM

Did those who visited the kiosk happen to ask if there are any limits as to how long the $30/$40 plans would last for? Hopefully it's not just the lower price for the first 6 months like on Wind.

TOS'd 11-17-2010 09:35 AM

Although data is unlimited. They dont allow official tethering apparently.

Really? I had read differently on their website:

http://mobilicity.ca/support/plans-d...ering-allowed/

I'm hoping this is still the case.

Yea I tried, he said that itas expensive because I have so much on the plan, then I asked how much to cancel and he didn't even offer me anything... The big difference is the $30/month for 6gb data, then I pay extra for voicemail and crap to.. it all adds up -_-

I have never tethered with my iPhone, do lots of people actually do that?

TOS'd 11-17-2010 10:41 AM

^ I rarely tethered on my iphone, but now I tether so I can stream sirius on my iphone(which im using as an ipod touch).
I also tether when theres shitty wifi. But I usually just surf or stream, so it doesn't take that much data.

Oh I guess they changed their terms. I read heavily about mobilicity but I couldnt wait for them to get into town, so i just renegotiated my plan with rogers. In the beginning when there were only in TO, tethering wasnt allowed.

icemiko 11-17-2010 11:11 AM

Time to port over from Wind. LOL.
