Its states it on the flyer and the rep even told me to add it to my acct since its free, in case in the future I switch to a berry. Posted via RS Mobile |

I signed up the first day with them and they gave me a free sim even without a phone purchase. I returned to them a few days ago when my new phone arrived to port my fido number, they had to change my sim to do the port and didn't charge me for that one either. Can't promise that they won't charge you but it's worth a shot to save $20. Keep in mind though they do try their best, a lot of the reps there have little clue what they are doing and may take a long time to complete your request but in the end everything went smoothly. For the $40 unlimited plan, does the cost stay at $40 or does it go up after a certain period of time (i.e. after 12 mos)?

If you flip over their terms of service it says they can change prices whenever they want.
BUT
rogers/telus/bell say the same thing on their terms of service to.

They're not going to hook you with the deal then up the price because you dont have a contract so your not obligated to stay with them. If they did that they'll just loose all the business they've worked so hard to get, doesnt make sense on their part.

and HD2 is on 900/2100 band. So you'll be able to receive calls, but you wont be able to make outgoing calls.
you need a phone that supports 1700/2100 band

I tried running a search,
Has it been confirmed that they are completely using their own towers?
Not shared with anybody?
Also,
Who's their american bandwidth equivalent?
t-mobile = wind
att = rogers
mobilicity = ???

t-mobile = wind

mobilicity = ??? | they are completely on their own network and towers within the coverage area, built by Ericsson. Wind's network is build by some shitty company i believe.
Also Mobilicity delayed their launch because they wanted to launch when their network was optimized at 94% reliability (no network is over 95%, yes even rogers) while Wind launched at 70% therefore the dropped calls issue soon after launch. Aside from the coverage outside their coverage area, you should be on a very reliable network. Of course there will still be slivers of non coverage here and there but they'll fill those in as ppl report them.
They're network is pretty solid.
How do i know? Because i work for them now lol.

So I haven't had time to head down to a branch to talk to a rep, but my gf is about to head to Saskatoon for Co-op, it's all grey on the coverage map... does this mean that no matter what plan she gets, it'll be roaming and be at the 10c per text / 20cents per min charge that was mentioned earlier in the thread?
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Wind's core network equipment is built by Alcatel-Lucent. It is not shitty.
Their radio network is primarily based upon ALU and a mix of Huawei.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. | that is correct. She'll have to pay the cost of the plan per month + 10cents per text/20cents per min If she's in Saskatchewan.
however this is only if she adds money to her 'my wallet' if there is no money in there, she wont be able to make/receive text/calls. If she tries to call without money in my wallet, it'll take her to customer service i believe. This way you wont get docked for extra unsuspected costs, you control what you pay.
