Car Auctions

Anyone ever bought a car from a car auction? What was your experience? Any tips or stuff to watch out for?

they are cheap for a reason... so i heard...

people say that these auction places repair just enough to sell it..... if you intend to buy it for a fixer up, it should be a bargin... otherwise, i would tell you to avoid it...

i have always wanted to go take a look but maybe tempted into bidding for something i might get more then i bargin for.. haha...

Well from what I can remember when I went a long time ago in surrey, they have different lights that will come up meaning different things when a car is being bid on. Ie. Rebuilt, out of province etc. There are also cars that they will offer warranty on if you choose to buy it, maybe those will be a better choice. Plus I think they have a buyback period as well for some cars

I've been to several auctions in the GVRD and found that usually people overbid to the point where it's not a bargain.

What are some good auction places? All i've checked up on is Able Auctions. Just kinda curious to see the lists of what sort of stuff. There are a few cars I wouldn't mind buying a shell of.
