But good comes to good.
Mike will win here. There's too much evidence, too many hurt people and too many incidents for the bad people not to get their due. Mike is not going to back down at all, it's too late for that.
But justice will prevail. He knows that. He just has to remember that the reward will come at the end and we will all be here to see it.

Since a lot of this stuff I'm sure has been documented, the ministry would have to inter-vein for the welfare of the child. Since clearly the father earns no legal income and is under investigation by two different law enforcement agencies, it would be no problem for them to take action of their own accord.

That really would be a good idea. Drop them a note and from there it would be at their discretion. That child should not have to be subject to any kind of selfishness and unstable home life, if that is what he is experiencing. Better to err on the side of caution.
