Rogers IPhone 4 Special Upgrade Promo Dilemma I'd like your input on what alternatives I may have on this situation: The iPhone 4 Eligibility Tool ( at the Rogers wireless websites ) states that my primary number with them is not eligible for the $159 pricing of the iPhone 4 16 GB version. However, my secondary line, which was initiated concurrently with my primary line, has the identical plan, same phone upgrades at the same time, but is eligible for the $159 pricing of the iPhone 4 16 GB version according the online Eligibility Tool. The Rogers CSR/Retentions personnel is unable to determine why this is the case for my primary number and has stated that they cannot do anything about it. They also stated that the retail shops now have the power to overrule probable technical errors when it comes to the sale of the iPhone 4. The only thing they can do is have it written down in my record that my primary and secondary lines have different iPhone 4 eligibility even though they are identical and have suggested to approach the retail stores instead I approached a friend of mine who works at the mobile phone dept at Futureshop about my situation. From their paradigm, their system indicates the same discrepancy for my primary and secondary line. My friend stated that he will not be able to grant me the phone because of the Eligibility Results they have on their system for my primary phone. What other options do you folks suggest for getting the Special Upgrade Price for my primary line ? |
Talk to retentions. They'll be able to help. Posted via RS Mobile |

The elligibility tool said I needed to pay full price as well. I called retentions and they gave it to me at the reduced price. When was the last time your upgraded? |
Apparently, any CSR I talked to used the online eligibility link which is obviously flawed. I talked to retentions and they were able to offer me the iPhone 4 at new customer cost. Two weeks later I spoke to a CSR and she gave me a different pricing. Speaking to retentions is your best bet. But in your case, I'd speak to retentions again. |
I had the same issue. Except my primary line was able to get the iPhone4 and my secondary line, even though it was added on at the same time of the first line and had no upgrades yet was denied ANY upgrades on the second line. I had to call in and ask why I wasn't getting the same level service for the second line and the bitches at Rogers retention gave me the run around. Anyways, after a little bit of arm wrestling and going in with the unfair level of service angle, they let me upgrade to any phone/smartphone except the iPhone4. Maybe you should try my argument instead with retentions and you might get better results? |
Does anyone know the standard hup policy for rogers? Posted via RS Mobile |
Yea, I'm wondering if I get an iphone through HUP on another line, can I not use that microsim it comes with? Since they would probably be porting over the number to the new microsim? Is there a way around this? My line is currently not available for the full discount for another 2 months or so, but another line is available for the upgrade. |
