Skytrain is out

Not sure if it is still happening but some people from work saids there was an issue with Skytrain and it was running on one track this morning. This happen about 8:30am I think. Huge lines up at boardway station :D

Just look up transitlink website and saw this on the alert
Due to a technical issue major delays are being experienced on the Expo Line. Expo Line trains are running end-to-end, but very slowly, and customers will need to transfer from train to train to complete the journey. Millennium line running between VCC-Clarke and Columbia only.

yup my friend texted me that the 99b lineup at broadway station was like 1km long haha

Tapioca 09-10-2010 09:53 AM

I took the train this morning, like every other day. It took me about 45 minutes to get to work, as opposed to the usual 25.

I think Skytrain staff were being a bit alarmist by telling everyone that Broadway was packed. When I got there at 8:30, there weren't any lines and I was able to get on the B-Line fine. When I got to the Canada Line at Cambie, I had to wait for 1 train. It didn't seem like the system was busier than normal.

I feel sorry for commuters from Richmond though. Skytrain is never as packed as Canada Line.

I did not miss the ability to create threads on RS mobile until this morning. When I got to commercial station around 8:50, the lines for the 99 were all the way back to the escalators to the upper platform (from the millenium line side). I decided to head to vcc/clarke, and the line for the 84 was wrapped all the way down the platform and back up. Luckily they sent a cambie station 'special' bus and I was able to make it to work barely in time.

Ironically I took the skytrain today because I was fed up with the hastings repaving delays. Note to self: get off at gilmore, walk down to kootenay loop. It'll be faster than anything else.

That's pretty standard for the B-Line, especially now that school is in session. (Another reason to dig a trench through Broadway and extend Skytrain, but I digress.) Sometimes, it snakes several times in that part of the station. But, the B-Line is pretty frequent (2 minutes during peak times) so the lines move quick. When a Skytrain attendant said "zoo" I was expecting lines from the Millenium platform.

I was tempted to take the Victoria 20 to Hastings and hop on the 135. I probably wouldn't have saved much time though.

sexyaccord 09-10-2010 10:44 AM
