tokyo or rio wouldnt be bad. What has crazy new years parties in terms of fireworks and something that makes you go wow?

Tokyo would be a fun place to spend NY since you're into japanese culture. It's going to be expensive though so make sure you budget that into your expenses.

HK would be a good alternative because of the huge ex-pat community there and I can see you having a blast in lan kwai fong. Food there is also dirt cheap so you could stuff your face silly with a smaller food budget

i'd consider it in that order.

If you're just looking to relax to the max, and stuff your face and lounge around

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Or any hot spot really, nothing like bringing in the new years at a beach party, while the rest of the worlds freezing their butts off

Ibiza is dead from October to about April/May. The club season is in full force from June to the end of September. You do not want to go to Ibiza for New Years. If anything, Barcelona or Madrid is a safe bet. :p

Taipei is another good place to spend new years :D

I'd do australia but a week in australia is very hurting. I think it's comign down to tokyo or hk.

Jamaica doesn't sound bad, but I like to surround my self with lots adn lots of people.
