Looks good on paper but spec doesn't always translate to good user experiences. Can't wait to check it out in person though. IMO I can stay. Restricted os on a phone but not on a tablet which woul replace my laptop when I travel Posted via RS Mobile |

The Playbook seems to be an add on to the blackberry were the I pad seems to duplicate many of the I phones functions. I love the fact it has HDMI out, USB, can run power point presentations and run drive 2 different screens at the same time.

Unlike recent berry phones, the pad seems to stack up pretty decently against competitors.
I look forward to them not botching this, I hope. Posted via RS Mobile |

so many unconfirmed features... but the dual core should be awesome provided they go with a decent GPU.
Someone told me the Playbook piggyback on a blackberry's data plan, anyone else read that somewhere?

It is said that QNX will be released onto devices in the near future. Quote:
Earlier today during a breakfast at the BlackBerry DevCon 2010, a Research In Motion VP confirmed that the QNX operating system (as seen on the PlayBook tablet) would be used in future BlackBerry devices. The QNX system is said to eventually replace the entire BlackBerry OS.
We're aren't too surprised to hear that the QNX OS will become the new standard for BlackBerry smartphones, but don't expect it anytime soon. The RIM VP says, "BlackBerry 7 would likely be a stepping stone to a full switch".
The QNX OS should be a stellar move for the BlackBerry platform. The QNX system will bring a lot to the table in allowing for efficiency, low power consumption, integration of Adobe Flash and AIR, 3D rendering, interoperability of some current apps, and good developer support.
It is safe to say that we should see future BlackBerry devices with a very solid OS. We're very excited for the future of RIM and BlackBerry, and can't wait for the PlayBook to be released. What are your initial thoughts on QNX?

Ipad has a bezel as well, it's somewhere to put your thumbs when you're holding the thing. The product is for younger crowds.
This berry will be targeted to an older crowd, grandpa's gonna need more bezel to hold on to, so he doesn't accidentally place his thumb on the screen and deem it unresponsive.
Can't think of any other reason why they would make it so large, wasted real estate, looks like a digital photo frame.

QNX has never came up with anything worth mentioning for the phone / tablet platform, also Jsunu they are not coming up with the 3G yet they are expecting people to have a berry already and tether with it.

Google had never come up with anything worth mentioning for the phone / tablet platform, and oh look, now there's this thing called Android. Google had never even looked at an OS before: in the grand scheme of things, they're total amateurs. On the other hand, QNX practically invented the real-time operating system. So I don't know, I think I like their chances.
