Your crazy for thinking a 1000hp GTR is a good track car.

Who said anything about a track? I'm talking about daily driving around the streets. 9 second GTR > 8 Second Supra

Berz out.

this is a terrible agurement considering

15 years of engine and technology advance, stock 400+ HP, AWD and MODS and it cant beat a car thats 15 years old even with super short gearing, super advance transmission and insane amounts of HP

I think 15 years of aftermarket support dont add up to what this GTR has already

Just join the track day on Oct 18th at Mission Raceway and see for yourself. There will be a few GTR R35 strutting their stuff.

uhm, maybe for those who like the very controlled and boring AWD. RWD + power + streets = fun. But then again its just my preference.

While a high power supra is only good in a str8 line it is really damn fuckin good at it. The Texas mile record is in the ownership of a Supra and that's going up against monsters like Ford GT TT and all sorts of fire breathing machines
Posted via RS Mobile
Texas mile record is held by a TT Gallardo Superleggera at 250.1 mph. The Supra you speak of went 246 mph. Those TT Ford GT's are hitting speed over 265 mph, those Supra's aren't even in the same league.

Acually the Supra current mile record is 247 and you consider 3mph?? not even in the same league?

Viper tt 245+
Corvette tt 240+
Supra tt 247+
Gallardo TT 250+
Ford GT TT 250+ (265 was a glitch in the speed measuring insturment)
http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/a...ng-mile-4.html

With all these cars the Supra is the oldest with a 18 year old chasis and a 20 year old designed engine and transmission with more than half the cubic inches the other engine has.

Believe me the Supra is one of my favorite cars of all time, but with that being said people started TT'ing GTs and Gallardos relatively recently. The newest TT Gallardos are almost at 1800 whp. The Texas Mile is on soon. Watch and see what the TT Gallardos, GTs, and Vipers do. 250.1 will be topped for sure.

RPM and other domestic builders have been building 427's for YEARS probally before the supra ever even came out. Hardly the same as comparing a new engine.

Well hey if you think that in 14 years give or take that the mkiv supra will be competitive with the 2jz vs the r35's vr38 then you can keep on dreaming.

i dont think it will be i was just pointin out that for its age the Supra is still a very serious car

real question is in 15 years will the r35 still be competitive with the newest monsters out there

well for one thing the Ring where the GTR "ruled" for awhile, the lap time that Nissan posted could not be reproduced by a number of 3rd party test. All with skilled drivers and not one of them could even come close to the time that Nissan claimed. Also not the 1st time that has happened the R33 got a time not one else could reproduced as well.

Pretty much the hype of a stock GTR lapping the Ring is arguable false and that "fact" was used to hype this thing like crazy.
