I use Phillips Hyperluxe kits exclusively for all my customers and I have never had a problem. They have a 1 year guerentee.
The most common complaints are from people with 'other' aftermarket HID systems that flicker or fail to ignite.
They are a bit more expensive, but well worth it imo.

Hid kit in fogs is a huge nono.
Fogs generally don't have a good reflector so light goes everywhere. If you want to add illumination I say get some fog projectors such as blazer, hella mini, or retrofit with is300. Altho still illegal, it won't blind on coming traffic. Posted via RS Mobile |

just get some ricer bulbs and be done with it
headlight plus fogs hid attracts a lot of heat, since you can spot a blinding bright car miles away

wouldn't HID's kind of...defeat the purpose of fog lights? To put out less light than the regular headlights so you can see *in fog*?

I just installed some hi/lo hids in a newer ram and hid's in the factory driving lamps as well. the customer was very pleased with the results as he needed long range lighting for hunting trips.
HID's in fog lights are redundant are yours in fact fog lights tho?

check out ddmtuning.com. Not sure how much shipping is to Canada but I bought some fogs for my Supra and they were only $29 + $11 shipping in the states. Lifetime warranty too.

I was actually considering this for winter/spring when the rain gets real bad.
I have blazer projector foglights installed and was considering the ddm tuning hids but after reading on hidplanet that it'll cause it to overheat unless the car is always in motion (have wind going over the foglight). It'll melt the fogs.. Posted via RS Mobile |

| I don't know how you interpreted it, but the way I interpreted it, he pretty made the guy's headlights HIDs. Unless the redneck only intends on driving his truck while hunting, ranting about the south, and raving about how great Nascar is, he's probably going to be using his headlights and the truck as a daily driver.
Phil from Rise, I realize you work in a business that caters all around your clients. But I wouldn't go around flaunting the work you did, when the outcome would clearly and negatively affect other drivers on the road.

There, do I come off as arrogant as you now?
You assume I don't know what I'm doing. You assume I'm some know nothing salesman trying to sell another set of annoying HID's but truth be told I'm a professional technician first salesman second and as such I install things correctly, because I know how.
So no he's not blinding people nor deer. He's just a hunter that will venture 100's of KM's off the beaten path and for personal safety sakes needs to see far enough ahead for evasive maneuvering.

So explain to us, how do you put a set of HIDs into reflector housings designed for halogen lamps, and manage to a) not blind anybody, and b) have any usable light?
Unless you're talking retrofit.
