Merceedes Benz SLK. The perfect blend of sports and luxury. My dad has one and its great to drive.

Stereotyping the potential buyers, I'd say:

* Lexus IS 350 (AWD 2011)
* Volvo C70 (Hardtop convertible with a very slick open/close mechanism)
* Infiniti G37S (Big discount on cash purchase)
* BMW 328 xDrive Coupe

Wow, what a range of cars. There are some hardcore sports cars in there mixed with...a hybrid?

I'll throw one in. You can get a 2004 Acura NSX for $50Kish in the states. Looks nice, fast, reliable. Not very practical, but more space than a S2000. Besides, it's only two people!

WHY WOULD YOU THROW THAT IDEA IN?
I wouldn't see an Acura NSX treat so poorly because of the retired couple have NO Knowledge about cars at all...

Maybe you could try Benz C-Class 4matic, Lexus IS250 AWD or Cadillac CTS AWD Package.

An important question is do they still want a manual transmission? For retiring parents they might be leaning more towards the brand name and some sportiness.

Just go for the standard e92 3 series, A5, C Class, G37, SLK. Good mix of sportiness, looks, comfort and are respectable cars too.

They might not appreciate true sports cars like the S2000 (only available w/ 6 speed) and MX-5 because those are more raw. Might be too hardcore for retired parents.

MT nice, not required.

Thanks for the response guys.

I'd pick:

s2000
miata
z4
slk

out of the list you gave

JSALES 10-11-2010 03:46 PM

out of the list you mentioned, i would settle for either the 370Z, GTI, WRX or G37

1-Slicer-1 10-11-2010 03:52 PM

I'm 21 years old and out of the cars you listed, I would choose either a 335i, A5, or C350.

For a retired couple, out of the cars you've mentioned, I'd probably choose something along the same lines; Something that has both sport and luxury.

One day everyone here will hit "retiring age" and how much of a dimwit do you have to be, not to drive any car or have to conform to an image that "society" accepts for old persons car. People that failed my last post are drones.

The technical definition is
A person who does tedious or menial work
