I'm trying to mount some PA speakers in the hall of a church that's 106 years old. Walls are like 3 inches thick, and whatever they plastered the walls with is cracking severely.

Building is some "historic site" and cannot be renovated.

Who do I call to make sure the walls are strong enough to withstand the weight of the speakers, and can anyone recommend?

TIA

i agree. also, if you're not familiar with sound/audio you might want to talk to some speaker or PA guys in case the type of speaker & location you choose will make it sound like crap

You may want to consider placing the speakers on stands instead. That way you don't mess with the walls and don't have to pay the costly fees of bringing in an engineer to assess the walls.

Anybody know where to get safety pins? Checked the dollar store but they didn't have any; also checked Superstore but had no luck. I asked 2 employees there and they didn't know what safety pins were...
TIA

Nothing at Superstore?! That's one of the first places I would look.

Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs... they definitely have them.

You do mean this, right?

J2 had them in stock. Off The Wall had them before, but I think they closed... (not 100% sure)

You can also get them online at:
Herschel - Shoes, Bags, Watches - Zappos.com

Speaker stands are definitely an option, but they look pretty bad aesthetically. Also, they are very limited in height...

Thanks though

Where get I can this for cheap? I am paying over $5 with tax at Staples.

My company is no longer provide us with the durable plastic ones and instead order the useless paper ones.

Something like $2-2.50 per pack plus tax would be awesome!

i remember when there used to be 1 or more in every shopping mall

iirc metro had 3 at one point then they moved out of the large malls and you could only find them in the strip malls and BOOM the majority of them shut down over the last few years now there's only like 1 per city if even (speaking about the burbs i know downtown theres still several)

used to be taken to them all the time -_-

If you can't find them in Richmond, you might have to hit up some of the Vancouver shops like Complex. There's another shop on Main and 10th Ave. that I can't remember the name of. The pricing for Herschel seems to be all similar anywhere you find them.

I actually found my Herschel bag on the Nordstrom online store, of all places.

Anyone know where to find a T-shirt folding board. I'd prefer not to have to drive to Richmond.
