Called Michaels, somewhere around 30-50, too much!

http://www.frameplace.com/xhanger.htm

Something like that anywhere locally? Any specialty poster shops?

So you don't want a frame, but the things that you use to hang posters with? If so the poster place in Metrotown has them.

Head south from the McDonald's entrance and the shop is on your right.

Well, I was hoping for something cheap like this - http://www.amazon.com/Essentials-Elite-Poster-Frame-%252824x36%2522%2529/dp/B0018KLAHI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1296113638&sr=8-3
But I can't seem to find any. Ikea's frames are like around the same prices as Michael's from looking at their catalogue.

I think those poster hangers are my best bet atm.

Any place that sells these at a lower cost?

$6.82 tax in for two cans at 7-11 is already steep!

89blkcivic - do you know where I can find high grade canned salmon?

I was at the Willingdon Costco last week and couldn't believe my eyes. First grade canned sockeye salmon. Never seen it before in any domestic store let alone Costco. Always second or third grade Canadian or that Alaskan/USA stuff.

Half a pallet left, as of today. Make sure it does not have USA on the lid and that the can code ends with the letter "D" on the second line. First line is just the date code. You have to peel back the label they have covering the code.

I was at Costco in Abbotsford a couple of days ago and they did not have the first grade cans. Second grade only.

$6.99 for three tins. Not bad price. It could be a mistake, but who the hell cares? I guess this years abundance of sockeye had something to do with it. Ocean's brand sockeye salmon - don't get the pink salmon.

Anyway, thought you guys might want to know..........

Vansterdam 01-28-2011 06:03 AM

whats the difference between first and second grade?

Firmness, colour, texture, taste, cooked to perfection, etc.

Samples from a lot (random samples of 12 or so cans) get sent to DFO (Department of Fisheries and Oceans), along with a report on when and where the fish were caught, how long it was stored before it was processed, and how it was cooked (graphs of retort - temp over time and cooling down process).

Number one sockeye is "supposed to be" bright red and the meat is firm as a virgin's......... never mind, forgot my New Year's resolution. LOL. I'm trying really hard to find god. He doesn't take kindly to horny old men.

Can try JYSK...

MG1 01-30-2011 12:31 PM

I have a few of those Detolf glass display cases. Nobody else comes close in price for something like that. Can't even buy the glass for that price. Jysk, as far as I know, doesn't carry anything like that. Once in a while Jysk has good prices, but quality of their stuff is questionable.

Jacka 01-30-2011 05:21 PM

woot, thanks 89blkcivic!

We would need to see how much the cost would be first.

And who else would be in on the GB?

Depends how much each portion would be. I don't want to be stuck with 2Kg of the shit. Get it by Superbowl weekend, LOL.

I would imagine the thing is so full of chemicals, the expiry date will be like year 2211. I shit you not, I had cheez whiz that was fine after 8 years of expiry date, LOL.

AutozamAZ-3 01-30-2011 07:02 PM

anyone know where to get embroideries done on hats? i know lids does this service, starting at $10, but does anyone know where to do this for a little bit less expensive?

I'm almost positive they have a display case just like that...

drunkrussian 01-31-2011 11:28 AM

Cedar coat hangers or anti-moth cedar rings to hang on the hanger...or cedar wood chips to protect against moths. So far, all i could find was a bed bath and beyond located in north van...anyone know anywhere closer?

I hope you're right, because I can use a few more display cabinets. Jysk has good sales once or twice a year.

BTW, I got two of my Detolfs for real cheap on Craigslist. 35 bucks each - helluva deal.

RONA

If they haven't got 'em, buy some cheap cutoffs and make your own chips (planer). Some lumber yards give cedar cutoffs away for free.

They had one called Seja, but it looks like they may have discontinued it?

Their website shows they have a supplier that sells them at Metrotown. But apparently the store (Mayfair) closed down already...

I got my Hedgren messenger bag from Satchel Shop many years ago on Robson street, not sure if they still carry them or if Satchel Shop is even around anymore. They're great bags
