I think I saw them at RP Electronics. Not sure if prices are anything to write home about.

I'm looking for noise cancelling drapes. No one seems to know what I'm talking about locally, but they are thick drapes (usually have some medium in between the fabric), vinyl on the back. They are typically pretty heavy and require extra strong curtain rods.

Has anyone here ever heard of this or am I the only one?

MG1 03-08-2014 06:07 PM

Yeah, my mom had those in her old house. I had to take them down twice a year to get them cleaned. Fuark, they are heavy. Heavier than a lead vest they put on you when at the dentist.

Vinyl at back, fireproof material in front and whatever the hell they had in the middle. I've had to reinstall the track a few times, too. Drawing the drapes took a bit of energy.

I bet they're bulletproof, too. I can't see anything going through those drapes........ light, sound, heat, infrared and ultraviolet, tv/radio waves, and microwave. Could be used to replace tiles on Space Shuttle.

For fabric? Any fabric or craft store, even WalMart should have it.

The warehouse for this particular brand is on Winston St. (just west of Brighton St.) in Burnaby. My fiancee's parents used to work there so I have had 2 in my possession. You can see if they sell it there at lower prices.

They're ok. Just need to make sure that your desk is at the right height otherwise you can't really adjust the ball aside from pumping it up more. I kept one for my computer desk (Ikea Jerker) as it leaves a very nice footprint (and I don't stay at my computer for very long).

Isn't mounting the ball, so it doesn't move, defeating the purpose of a yoga ball?

m3thods 03-10-2014 04:32 PM

Yeah sort of. The ball acts as a spring so you're not putting the force of your entire weight on your vetebral column/ass unlike a hard chair. Aside from the fact that you're not moving and working any stabilizer muscles, that's pretty much the only reason I can think of for keeping the ball stationary.

Like I said it's not all that comfortable to use for long periods of time. But to each their own.

That, or try Princess Auto - they should have something specific, and if not, they'll have lots of other stuff that could be fabricated.

awhile back I saw some flavors in bulk at the Save On Foods in Metrotown. Not sure if they were actual clodhoppers but they tasted pretty dam close to the original. Now that it is gone perhaps try another Save Ons.

Saw some at Brentwood Save-On foods bulk section today. Forgot what flavour but they were white.

anyone know where i can buy gelatin in bulk.
not individual packs, but a big can of it?

MG1 03-17-2014 01:28 PM

Give Wholesale Club in Burnaby a try. They sell the weirdest shit there in bulk.

Anyway, while we're on the topic of gelatin........
