Any suggestions on decently priced home slippers that are durable and have a good amount of grip?

freakshow 05-15-2014 01:09 PM

I got some at ikea for $4 or something. They're not fantastic, but they have a solid rubber grip

Michaels? Maybe CT or Walmart, where they keep the for sale/garage sale signs?

mk1freak 05-16-2014 10:10 AM

I'd be interested in knowing this lol. I've never seen one locally, and would like to take a picture beside a regular egg.

Buddy is looking for a charger/sync cable for a Samsung Galaxy tablet, and doesn't want to drop $25+ to Telus for it. Anywhere local to get them cheaper?

Inaii 05-19-2014 10:58 AM

dollar store, target... anywhere that sells electronics/cords basically. It's not specific to the tablet just make sure to get the same end (micro usb). I've found as long as you don't get them from a cell phone retailer, they're not that bad. I saw some in chilliwack at the target for around $15 I think? And the dollar store had some cables for a couple bucks. Just don't get the stand charger.

mk1freak 05-19-2014 12:11 PM

my galaxy tab used a diff charger port, iirc got a spare one at night market for 10 bucks last year.

Battery Pack w/ Coaxial?

I have a 1W LED light that feeds from a 3.7V battery pack and charges from a 5V adapter. I believe the DC coaxial is 5.5mm

does anyone know where I can buy a portable battery pack w/ coax connection? I prefer not to use a USB to coax adapter since I'll be wearing it throughout the day. The ebay 1500mah ones don't last me through a working day and the prosumer ones sell for $200+

I'm looking for one that's comparable to the popular portable USB battery packs/power banks that go for $30-50...dimming knob would be a plus but not necessary. Doesn't have to be local ...online is fine.

it'll look something like this

I could be wrong, I didn't notice a difference when I was looking at the one at the rogers next to my work, but I wasn't looking terribly hard. You could probably still get it at like Target or somewhere though. Or like mk1 said, night market

Where to buy a good computer desk other than ikea. Thanks.

Yeah, the Tab does use a different connector... looks exactly like an older iPod/iPhone connector, in fact (NOT compatible, BTW).

XS Cargo has cheap ones. I still have a desk that's around from there for $20 that had wheels which I used for a slim computer. Has some desk space for a book as well since the desk itself has a keyboard tray.
