Anyone know where I can buy these pocketable USB fans locally? I'm in north Burnaby and I bought my first one at Richmond Night Market. I lost it and don't want to drive all the way to Richmond.

Toys r us in Victoria had them for 9.95. The cashier said they price match with amazon at $2 or something haha

Still haven't quite figured out what they are for. Cashier figured it was for selfies hahaha

Damn it, saw this Old Tyme Jamaican Ginger Beer on clearance at No Frills on Broadway, near Cambie last week. I had no idea how good this shit was, so only bought two bottles. 89 cents a bottle.

Now I want more and they're sold out. There has to be other places that carry this shit. Looks like it's brewed right here in Canadar.

RS, please come through........

looking to buy a phone outright sometime by the end of this year
i like my current corp plan so no way i'm signing a new contract

when would be a good time to buy (discount and savings-wise) and what retailers would be the best to buy from?

Nexus/OP3 out of the running? Those are usually best bought online. I know OP usually has deals early in the year to move their current flagship (at least that's what it was like early this year with the OP2).

Otherwise if you're looking to get Samsung/Apple unlocked, I imagine their respective stores are the only places to get unlocked.

Lastly, I picked up a Nexus 6 from Amazon US last Black Friday for 200USD. That was by far the hottest phone deal of the year (in terms of bang for buck). If you can wait until then there's no harm waiting for what deals come about then.

6o4__boi 08-17-2016 11:27 AM

Definitely aiming for a 6P, wasn't sure if or when they have their sales.
Will be keeping a close eye on Black Friday this year.

I'm still on the fence about OP3. I want the next phone to at least last another 3 years and I'm not sure if OP3 is capable of that. Mind you, I'm coming from an HTC One M7 that has been amazing for me and wouldn't mind spending another year with if the battery life wasn't total garbage.

Do carriers usually have sales around black friday/boxing day?
If I had to rank the Top 5 phones I'd consider...

6P, Note, S7, HTC One M9, OP3 in that order. I'd love the Note 7 but i doubt that's gonna go on sale this year.

syee 08-17-2016 11:38 AM

If you are an HTC fan, wait until late September for the new Nexus devices. The rumors are that they're HTC built devices.

The 6P has seen a price drop already and if you're willing to ship to the US, you can catch it on sale quite often. I'd say Black Friday would be your best bet at the moment. The new phones will have been released and there's plenty of competition for your $$$.

I don't think carriers ever have sales for phones outright. They always discount the upfront cost of the phone given you sign up for a plan.

Like syee said, you can get a 6P now from various outlets on sale for pretty cheap. But if you can wait, Black Friday is probably a good time to wait for. Who knows- maybe Amazon will have the 6P for 199 too!

Have you tried local parts stores (Napa, Lordco, WestCan, B&J, etc)? I'm fairly certain I've seen these at work before... I believe vibrant makes them?

MG1 08-17-2016 10:39 PM

And, don't forget Mopac and what's that other store again? Oh yeah, Overseas Auto. Sorry Jim, just pulling your leg.

Almost forgot, places that sell hoses. That's all it is, a chunk off a big ass, hose.

Besides amazon

where can i find good quality USB socket outlets?
How are these for charging?
I'm getting annoyed at having to carry my chargers back and forth and since i've got an assload of usb cables at home, I figured changing the socket by my bedside to ones that have USBs would be the way to go for charging.

Is there a difference between getting the ones that actually replace your socket vs the ones that just plug in on top and comes with the USB ports?

Aluratek® - AUCS07F ? Mini Surge Dual USB Charging Station

meme405 08-19-2016 01:16 PM

FYI look up on youtube, there are a couple people that take apart plugs and stuff, and they have serious issues with those USB adapting outlet replacements. Some of them are fine, others are made super cheap and junk, and will be all fucky.

I'd honestly recommend getting a good quality USB hub from like Anker or something.

I bought one on Massdrop from juiced and it works like a charm, plugs into my wall for power to like 10 devices, and USB3.0 to my computer for all the things plugged in as well.

Costco carries them in a pack of 2.

Shot glasses that say "Vancouver" and/or "Canada" on them.

Besides the obvious souvenir shops in and around downtown. I've been to a couple dollar stores and no luck at either.

TIA!

MG1 08-22-2016 11:36 AM

Metal Supermarket or Metal Mart.

They will even cut the thing for you, but no fabricating.

Metal Supermarkets | Buy Aluminum, Stainless, Hot Rolled and Cold Rolled Steel

Metal Mart is in Langley, but Metal Supermarket is in Burnaby. Just a few blocks north of Lake City Skytrain Station.
