Does anyone know where I can find a kotatsu? Preferably one that isn't too pricey. Alternatively if someplace sells just the heater I can make the rest myself.

I think you could call a place that makes cabinets. Call Lee Valley Tools.

Go to Sears in the hardware dept and see if they can supply parts for Craftsman cabinets

Anyone ever get cheapo counter top replacements?

Basically I have an old melamine/vinyl counter, I need to replace it with somthing quick and easy as to sell the place. I can buy the slabs from IKEA or Home Depot but I need specific angles cut in the top. Only way I could do it half decent is with a track saw, and I'm not sure if anyone rents them.

So ideally what I'd do it take my top off (oh yeaaaa) and have somone replicate this tops cuts and size

Anyone ever done anything like this?

yray 09-26-2016 02:07 PM

^ikea does custom too which they contract out to fitsright in langley. You pick up the custom slab and install it yourself or you cna get them to do it. Measurements are DIY so triple measure.

Hondaracer 09-26-2016 03:00 PM

Ikea told me today they didnt do custom..which didnt make much sense since how the fuck is the DIYer with no experiance gonna cut a top.. never trust the chick with the accent :@

may just by the slab and try to cut free hand

hud 91gt 09-26-2016 03:15 PM

With a top mounted sink, couldn't you get close enough with a jig saw?

I have no house building experience just a thought ha.

Hondaracer 09-26-2016 03:28 PM

its these matching corner angles i'm scared to cut, but fuck it.. just gonna try and do it lol, watched a few youtube videos which gave me some good pointers

Go check these guys out. I get all my Cabinets and countertops for my rentals from them.

Kitchen Cabinets Vancouver | DKBC 778-861-5383 Discount Kitchen Cabinets and Bath Vanities | DKBC kitchen cabinets

Typically all you need is to show them a drawing of the counter, include measurements and they send them over to their counter top people and have it made up. Then you just put everything together yourself.

Anyone know where to buy a USB male plug to 3.5mm barrel plug locally? Need it within a couple of days and shipping from online purchase will be too late.

Also its for a battery charger with a built-in plug AC plug, input says AC 100V-240V - 50/60Hz Max 150mA.

There is also a spot for a 3.5mm barrel plug to cigarette lighter. Will I be able to plug in a 3.5mm barrel plug to USB male plug in order to charge with USB?

EDIT: I do see very similar (pretty much identical, branded differently) products that can charge via usb micro to usb A cable.

underscore 09-30-2016 06:50 AM

If it doesn't need to be pretty you could make one quite easily, it's just two wires that you need to connect.

TOS'd 09-30-2016 08:42 AM

I could probably make it myself, I have some wires lying around. But, will it draw enough power from say a powerbank that outputs at 5V, 4.8A?

godwin 09-30-2016 09:20 AM

Meter that ouput first before you do anything.. it could be 12V.. if it is straight from the cigarette lighter.

Most $ store would carry the cable you need.. you can always go to RP etc. but they will probably charge more.

Another tip.. if you are going to hook up permanently to a 12V -> 5V eg a cigarette lighter micro USB transformer.. make it modular.. since it is on all the time, it is common for it to fail over time.
