Where can I get some ballast bypass LED tube lights locally? Home Depot and the other big box stores only have the instant fit LED tube lights which means you take out the old fluorescent tube lights and put these in and it works using whatever ballast is currently inside the fixture. My ballast died and I don't want to replace it and would rather rewire the fixture to use the ballast bypass LED tube lights.

godwin 03-20-2017 05:42 PM

You mind as well just replace the whole fixture.. Rona often have 4" LED fixture onsale for about $40 including the LED tubes. Most tubes run for $15+ each.

If you are hoping for energy savings.. you don't save any energy with LED florescent fixtures.. they are still 44W, it is just brighter.

Large Rubber Grommet! Assortment between 1/2"-1"

I've tried Home Depot, Lordco, Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, a couple heating/plumbing stores....

Heeeeelllppp

fliptuner 03-25-2017 09:12 PM

Lordco carries, Paulin. They should be able to order them. You need a kit with a bunch of sizes or?

hud 91gt 03-25-2017 09:14 PM

A kit would be best. I need an assortment and not entirely sure what size. Probably easiest if I measure then ask. Lordco had a couple on the rack. I didnt go to my normal location and the salesman wasnt particularly helpful.

fliptuner 03-25-2017 09:34 PM

I think Lordco can order Performance Tool stuff, otherwise you can eBay/Amazon

that performance tools number, theres stock in Kelowna warehouse. depending which lordco you need it to, 1-2 days

hud 91gt 03-27-2017 03:26 PM

Did some measuring today, and I need sizes up to 1.5".

Surprisingly I went to Lordco today again and a kit was never brought to my attention. I'll try coming with part numbers this time.

Inaii 03-27-2017 04:37 PM

Which store did you go to hud?

Lordco stocks the Pico grommets, but in the small packs in-store. The Pico assortment pack is better than most, but doesn't have large grommets in it: https://picocanada.com/en/view_product/6114 Pretty sure the warehouse stocks that, so any Lorcdo in Van can have it same day or next.

For grommets, you might have better luck at MRO Electronics near Driver's Edge. You can see what they stock on the website, price is certainly better.
MRO Electronic Supply Ltd.

I often buy grommets at Home Depot in the electrical section, but that's more when I'm not planning ahead enough to order them online. I'm not a fan of the "assortment" packs of most grommets. I have billions of the 1/4" grommets that they use to make the packs sound like they have lots included. Great! 200 grommets in a container, too bad 140 of them are sizes I'll never use on a car.

From the USA, all my electrical goods come from Waytek Wire.

Im looking to get some vinyl "slap" stickers printed. Does anyone know a shop locally that does this? I've found one so far and they only print upwards of 1000 PC's per order.

This is kind of what I'm looking to print.

I'll have to do my research before heading into Lordco again. Waytek is the best. Never thought about searching for Grommets though. As long as you don't have to buy a minimum of 100! ha

just jot down what sizes you really need and go from there. as mentioned by dave a few posts up, pico has them and is local so at most would be same day or next day. kits are fine but they usually have oddball sizes that you'll never touch

Any sign shop can do this for you. You need to know some basics before you ask for a quote:

1) Size dimensions
2) UV coating or no? A sticker that is supposed to last a year or less, or strictly be used indoors, can go without a UV coating. Anything you want to last, or be in sunshine needs a UV coating.
3) White back or grey back? - A white back can have the decal design semi-visible from the reverse side (if it's installed on glass). Grey back has a grey backing so it can't be seen. Note: Whiteback can have your decal appear darker on a dark surface, so sometimes you want grey back so the surface colour doesn't change the decal appearance.
4) Material - You may want to specify a particular material type. We use 3M IJ-36 for anything that will be installed on a vehicle and we want to remove later. Its pressure-sensitive, so the harder you press it the more it sticks.

CCA does a small decal for each event (kinda like a kill decal), 3" wide by 1.5" tall. I'm printing between 40 and 200, depending on the event. Grey back, with UV coating, and the pricing ranges from $.75 to $1.50 per decal depending on the source.

Superstore has them but not in a bulk/12 pack. They've got 2 brands from what I remember. Old Tyme had a very sharp and spicy kick when I used it to make Moscow Mules.
