You don't have a fire extinguisher anywhere in the house?

Dude, they are like 40 bucks or so at Costco - really nice one. You need at least one. It may save your life one day. Canadian Tire has them starting from $29.00.

I have one in the garage and one in the kitchen. Actually, I think I have more than that. I just remembered I have one in the trailer and one downstairs. Yup, I'm paranoid. Never had a fire in like....... forever, but all it takes is the one time. Just one in the house will do, lol.

Just an FYI

I live in an apartment, they are in the hallways... Maybe my building manager has a spare?

MG1 05-07-2017 08:20 AM

Oh............ in that case, just use the one they have. Assuming has the word ass in it, lol. I feel like one.

Well, carry on carrying on.

Inaii 05-07-2017 11:57 AM

I don't think you can rent them, but check places like Princess Auto or CT they might have them on sale. They should have larger ones than the standard car size (I know CT does, I've seen them before, availability will probably vary by store though. Iirc it was at the cambie location a few years ago).

Maybe you should have the fire department on standby? :lol good luck!

Annnd I'm slow lol. thread didn't load properly so I didn't realize there was another page lol.

I think tomorrow may be the big day, attempting a start on the Datsun but I wouldn't mind a fire extinguisher on hand for those just in case moments. I had a lot of fuel leaks, and who knows where some fuel may be hiding.

Either that, or i'll fill rubber maids with water on standby. ha

Uh, throwing water onto a gas fire would take it from bad to worse. You want to spread burning gasoline everywhere? That would do it.

Make sure you get a BC rated extinguisher for gas fires. The powder should smother the fire. Water will just spread it around.

After thinking about the situation i've been working in, I decided to buy the Costco one :p

Great! And, knock on wood, I hope you never have to use it. Unless, it's someone else's fire you put out with the extinguisher.

You should spend the $40 and have some insurance at your shop

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it

Last year I tried to source some for a ponzu sauce recipe I was trying to make. Called all of the usual Japanese stores with no luck. I was told just to get the juice in a bottle. I hope you have better luck this year :(

Hehe 05-15-2017 06:24 AM

It's probably not the season as I've looked at all costcos around and couldn't find it.

Any store that has these truffle chocolate?

Hondaracer 05-15-2017 11:12 AM

If anything I'm actually quite interested in planting a yuzu tree :lawl: from what I've read it's not too difficult, doable indoors as well. Just need some seeds haha.

It used to be a holiday-only thing (like a month prior x'mas). Then it became sorta a regular item where you can buy outside of x'mas season albeit no on shelves (where the true permanent items are located).

But I just can't find it now after promising an acquaintance that I'd bring her some.

Try Bosa Foods or other Italian places. Might even try Donald's Market on Hastings. They carry some weird shit......... they have/had a good selection of Panettone, too. LOL
