You can also try Steveston Marine Hardware. They carry Blue Sea stuff. They're usually expensive though. The store, that is.

Might also try Soundsgood. They may have same stuff, but not Blue Sea.

I called, its a special order item for them you muppet.

I already got one, from steveston marine as MG1 said, was confused because they took over West Marine and just changed the name. Dude was great, at first he said he doesn't have 2 of them 60amp, then when I asked him to check he managed to scrounge a couple up for me from the back.

Already installed in my car, hopefully this fixes my issue. z

The reason why I want to buy it locally is because I have to leave on a trip soon and I wasn't sure that it would make it quick enough to ship from Amazon.

Thanks for assuming the worst.

^I totally understand......... sometimes you need something and in a timely manner. It's not always about saving a buck here or there. This thread is called, Where Can I Buy This Locally.

I wish people would just give leads and possibilities to help people find what they want/need and not question why they need it in the first place.

Why should someone have to explain/justify their needs to others?

Anyway.................. /rant.

god bless

Speaking of night markets, I went to a few of them last weekend. I went to the one by Home Depot in Richmond first, and Holy Fergie's panties, the place was deserted. Many of the shops and food vendors were closed. It's their last year of operation, so I heard. Then I went to the other one by the casino and what a contrast. So many people there, you moved like one step per minute. The following day, I went to Chinatown and, and, it was a waste of parking. It was not even a block long and only one side of the street had vendors. All the food vendors were gone by the time I got there. I counted four vendors............ okay, maybe five.

Why do they even bother? Perhaps I went at the wong time - Sunday evening.

This is exactly it. I'm desperately impatient. I pay for it now, I want it now. Buying in person is so much better for me.

I paid 25% more for the two circuit breakers I bought yesterday, but they are already installed in my car the same day. That is worth the extra 40 bucks to me. Until Amazon.ca steps up their game and offers local stocking of a lot more items, and same/next day delivery for as cheap as they do in the US, its a no brainer to look for where I can buy stuff in person locally.

In the states it makes no sense to drive around to find something in stores, my family in Cali orders something on Amazon.com in the morning and by afternoon dude is rolling up to your door with the package. It helps that there is 10 million people packed into a condensed area the size of southern BC.

I agree that Amazon needs to stock more items. Most of the time when I purchase from them, I specifically look out for ones that are fulfilled by Amazon. If lucky, they have stock in Richmond, and most of the time your item gets delivered the next day. Otherwise they will be shipped from Ontario, which would delay it to about 3-4 days.

I stay away from out of country sellers, because non-couriered tracking stops once it enters Canada. Even if you pay for extra tracking and stuff, Canada Post stops it.

Yeah most everything related to electronics or car parts I have looked at seems to come out of the US, then I'm always worried about getting hit for duties and taxes if I order it through Amazon, like when I bought a $200 dock for my laptop and got slapped with a $60 tax bill cause of UPS. Fuck that. So if I have to order it through Amazon.com and it ships out of the US, I just send it to Blaine, and pick it up. Which is a whole new hassle cause of wasting time driving to go get it from BBY or Van.

In case you weren't aware: When you order an item from Amazon.ca (not amazon.com), if it ships from the US and you incur brokerage charges, you can request a refund for those through Amazon.

The Amazon.ca policy clearly states that sellers must ensure buyers are protected from additional unexpected fees as taxes. It's reasonable that you should still have to pay taxes/duties, but NOT brokerage fees (and not the tax on that brokerage fee!)

Do your homework... Amazon.ca protects the buyer in this case.

I wAnder if Daiso/Yokoyaya has something like that.

Speaking of Daiso. I found this on their website.

Quote:
First DAISO in North America
Daiso created a joint partnership with the Fairchild Group and opened its first North American location - a 26,430 sq. ft store at the new Aberdeen Centre in Richmond, B.C in December 2003. This North American flagship Daiso store was an instant success. The public immediately embraced this unique concept of a dollar store that offers the shopping experience of a trendy department store; so much so that the Richmond Daiso quickly achieved the No. 1 sales position among all 3000 + Daiso stores in Asia.
This is quite an accomplishment for a store that just opened up for business in December 2003.

I need to decorate my apartment, looking for canvas prints/paintings/framed things specifically (over top of sofa, over top of bed, and something small for the washroom). Not looking to spend a crazy amount. Any recommendations of stores to check out?

On a serious note, there are galleries and showings in the Main and Broadway neighbourhood. You know... hipstertown. brcdukes' stomping grounds.
