Looking for a Coax Digital S/PDIF to Optical S/PDIF (Toslink) converter, locally. Lots of them on-line, but would like to get one asap. Checked the usual Lee's Electronics, RP Electronics, Best Buy, Visions, etc. Nobody has stock on hand. Even if I can borrow one for a day or two.

Ebay or Amazon sometimes will have a good deal. But for household items in general, Reliable Parts is usually really good at having parts you will need. They aren't always the cheapest, but they do have the parts when needed. I have used them a lot through owning different houses.

If you're one of those tap water is not good enough for me people then amazon but otherwise I recommend you just buying a water filter bypass for the fridge instead.

Dollarama sometimes has them but they're super small (think toddler sized). Canadian tire has them for sure though.

There's RP Electronics. They're one block east of the Gilmore Skytrain Station in Burnaby. It's a little closer to you.

Other than that, SMI Electronics in Langley. I haven't been there in ages, but they have components.

I’ll check them out thanks. I’m never into the really geeky computer stuff, but I always found it a great source for wire, 12v switches, crimp connectors, sleeving for wiring etc.

Not buying, but where, locally, can I recycle Amazon bubble mailers? Theses aren't the all-paper type, or the all-plastic type. Somewhere in Burnaby, but willing to go as far as PoCo.
