I'll have to measure my smallest ones but if they're ok, you're free to borrow them. I work in Burnaby

These are the ones I bought at crappy tire. If my memory is correct, 0.040 is 1mm, so .036” is pretty damn close to .9mm.

Yep... that's the one. Both Channellock and Knipex have them in that size. It's just not something the B&M stores carry. I'm gonna call around to see if anyone has them tomorrow. Else it's online..

Thx bud! Let me know. It seems most of the "small" ones are the one I got today, 1.3mm

sleepywheel 12-09-2019 07:29 PM

I have a couple of them that have tiny tips. I work on equipment that needs snap rings to hold bearings and seals in place so I should have something that will work. I'm busy tomorrow morning but free after lunch. Where do you work in Burnaby? I'm in south Van close to Boundary.

The smallest tip I have is smaller than a paper clip, about 0.040.

After reading online a bit, it seems that I need one with a 0.9mm tip. But none of the major stores (HD, CT, Rona) has them in stock and I'd have to order it.:rukidding:

Where abouts in Burnaby are you? I have one specifically to take apart locks, but it seems like you have many members to choose from

Anyone know where I can buy this in town?

Doesn't look like I can get this shipped here before Christmas after putting the order through.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07...t_b_prod_image

Thanks.

Nop, I'm the proud owner of this shit now.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If anyone ever need to borrow this, just PM. :fuckyea:

As suspected, after I took off the retaining ring, a bunch of different thickness "spacer" (not sure what's called, but you get the idea) felt out. Took off the the spring and was able to free the door lever and turn it around.

But putting that shit back is a completely different story. The's very little room for the retaining ring.It took me a good 15min to put it back together. :fuckthatshit:

Buns that are almost baked. The kind that need to be tossed in the oven to finish off?

wet the bun under cold water real quick, 350F for like 8 minute

they come out real nice and steamy like the keg

just buy half a dozen buns, experiment with how long you run it under the tap and what temp on the oven and for how long.

i used kaiser buns from superstore, quick pass under running cold water, flip and a quick pass again. repeat.
in the oven at 350-375 for like 8ish minutes and they came out good.

they dont last long at this steamy goodness tho, so keep them under a clean towel.

There are some baguette styled bun in Costco that are like that.

But if you need that fresh bun's smell on the long run, get a breadmaker. The newer ones are so awesome. You basically follow the recipe, put the stuff in, press a few buttons and it'd come out great!

And it can make both loaf style in the machine itself, or you can find plenty of recipes that mix the right dought and you can put them in oven to finish.

Looking for one of these before Jan 1. I would be stoked to have it for a polar bear swim.

I can order the antenna from Amazon, but prefer local pickup.

Simple syrup is just equal parts sugar and water. Put them into a pot and simmer over medium heat while mixing. When the sugar is dissolved you are done. let it cool before using.

unit 01-21-2020 08:22 AM

dont even need to cook it at all.
put equal parts in a mason jar, seal it up, shake it a few times and leave it on the counter. it will completely dissolve on its own.

Yep. Done this before for homemade shaved ice.

One suggestion though, if you are making a bigger jar/bottle for future use, get sterile/purified water from supermarket. (they are like a dollar or 2 for a gallon jar) I'm not sure what's the technicality of it. But whenever I made it with just filtered water at home, they never last long even when left in the fridge. After a few days, it tasted funny.

With pure water, I've gone for an entire summer without it changing one bit in flavor.
