Where can I buy a Dyson V10 filter locally other then the Dyson Demo Store at Pacific Center? Prefer original but aftermarket one will do.

Have you tried calling local vacuum repair stores?

Yes I have and none of them carries it. As a last resort I called the Dyson Demo store and they don't even sell it either :lol

Wanted to get one right away but just ended up ordering it from the Dyson's website. Now I can't make a mess for the next 2 weeks FeelsGoodMan

https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=dyson+v10+...l_1xj125p39j_e

sign up for prime trial for the shipping ?

DJ Milk 06-17-2020 12:20 PM

Thanks, I was going to order it from Amazon but the reviews are very mixed. So I just ended up ordering an OEM filter just so I know it will work properly

Have you tried washing it first? I have a V8, so I can't say for V10, but I only recently replaced the filter by suggestion over the phone with Dyson tech support. Prior that, I've followed the guide on youtube and wash them.

They came out pretty good if you take your time washing it.

DJ Milk 06-17-2020 01:34 PM

Yes it's been washed. The filter can only be washed so many times before it fails. It used to be like every 3-4 months and after each time it's get shorter. Lately it needed to be washed every week and it would be fine for about a few days.

Now it only works for a few minutes before it starts pulsating and the pipe icon starts flashing. That means there's a blockage in the pipe and air flow is restricted. But there is no blockage so the only other variable is the filter. The cloth area on the filter used to have a spongy feel to it but now it's hard like cardboard after it dries. I think that might be causing the air flow issue.

So I will replace the filter first and see if that helps. If not I still have 4 month warranty left and will use that last.

This request feels like it's from 2003...but where can I find an Alcantara / ultrasuede / fake suede shift boot with red stitching?

Universal fitment is ideal.

Locally, I had bought one for my Honda from A&J Racing in Richmond before.

Online, Redline Leather Goods might have something for the car you are looking for.

Anyone remember where RS'ers get a discount on Dashcams ? ( I believe Blackvue ). Looking to get a Front and Rear one installed in my QX4.

Anyone knows if there's a simple paint that would create similar effect?

Hammertone

I have a few indoor decor/furniture (chairs) that I'd like to paint it this way.

From what I gathered, there are hammertone spray paint cans from HD/Rona, but the effect isn't very hammer-ish and rather a rough paint surface.

To achieve the exact effect, I need to powder coat paint it. But the price of renting time at a commercial oven would likely put a huge hole in my pocket.

But if anyone knows where I can get similar paint (stainless steel/Aluminum surface), or maybe a decent cheapo place to diy powder coat works, that'd be HUGE.

In case anyone is wondering about the Dyson V10's filter. The last time I washed the old filter, I soaked it in water with OxiClean for 24 hours and then let it air dry outside in the sun for 3 days. It sill pulsate after a few minutes.

The new one arrived and it's working fine again. Here are some pictures of the new and old filter. On the new one you can see light through the filter.

Does anyone know of a place that sells ergonomic computer chairs? Looking into Herman Miller's and Steelcase but really open to any brand. Would prefer to test out in a showroom type environment first. My ghetto seat is messing up my back

How and when to clean/replace your Dyson filter
Your Dyson vacuum cleaner may include one or more filters that need to be cleaned to keep your machine operating at its best. Washing your Dyson filter is quick and easy.

1. Turn off
and disconnect your machine at the wall socket.
2. Remove your Dyson filter(s)
Select your specific machine from the selector below to find out how.
3. Wash filters in cold water only
(don’t use detergent or wash in a dishwasher or washing machine). Rinsing under the water supply then gently squeezing the water out of the filter. Repeat until the water runs clear.

4. Dry filters
by leaving them in a warm place for 24 hours, until completely dry.
NB: Don’t dry the filter in a tumble dryer, microwave or near a naked flame.

5. Replace the filters
OxiClean is a detergent.

DJ Milk 06-27-2020 03:49 PM

I never used OxiClean till the very last time since it wasn't working anymore and I was going to replace it anyways. Just wanted to give it a try and see
