The factory setup does use an o ring of some kind.

Oops missed this. Their website is a huge PITA. An M14 will require something to seal it like an O ring, it’s just a straight thread.

The guys at the stores have always been super helpful to me. I’ve dragged dirty ass radiators in there trying to find fittings and have always come out with my $5 part and 20 minutes of their time. Lol. If you have a local distributor head in the store. You’ll most likely be finding a AN/JIC to NPT fitting. Then an NPT to your M14 with an O ring. The tough part for your application will be finding a way to seal the M14 since it’s “recessed.” I can see that may be an issue for the O ring?

I ended up ordering some from the UK that have a few more threads than the Russell fittings, if they don't work out I'll start getting more creative. The trashed fittings came with some o ring/washer combo thing (think an o ring fused to the ID of a washer) so I'll try those, if they leak I'll get some OEM o rings and see if they work. The stock fitting threads in and then has a lock nut you tighten to the casing that clamps down the o ring so it should work with the new fitting.

I also found out the shop may have used the wrong fluid in the trans, so having several litres dump out isn't the end of the world. I got to drop $150 on new fluid which is annoying though.

I'm looking to buy a blackout roller shade for one of my windows. But unlike typical roller shades, I would like it to start at the bottom of the window so I can pull it up around 4'. I don't want the roller to be mounted at 4' and go downwards because then the "roll" will be floating in the middle of my window (7' high). I'm pretty sure I saw systems before that just use a "U" type metal bracket/hook that you can mount on both sides of the window and that would hold the shade at 4' (or whatever you set it at).

Does this exist or was it something I just imagined seeing before.

On the German Look oil system, I switched out the o-ring on ORB fittings to a crush washer. Solved my issues. You'll also get another 1/2 to 3/4 thread engagement. Might help with your UK fittings.

Would it be out of the question to diy/modify a regular roller shade?
Say inversely mount it and string a rope through the bottom (now top) and install hooks on the sides of the window? Or fixed extensions attached instead of the rope

Any recommendation for TV wallmount installation?

I did mine myself... but this is for a friend who's renting a place and don't want to take any chances. So, if anyone can recommend an installer who does a good job at reasonable rates, please let me know.

Yea that's the alternative I've been looking at. Ikea has one that would nicely except its not a dark colour.

Snap toggles are super strong. Use 6 and it'll be no problem. LL is just worried. As was I when I used snap toggle at first.

Think I'd get more traction here than the business forum...

Anyone recommend a good bank account to open for kids to start saving? Hopefully something that doesn't charge fees and actually give interest for whatever savings the kid has.

Does TD offer anything good?

I was just looking into this. It's not a brick and mortar.

The only account that offer decent interest is Tangerine.

https://www.tangerine.ca/en/products...avings-account

TD's interest is like 0.01% whereas Tangerine is 0.30%.

Check with credit unions. They tend to offer better rates than banks.

Can anyone recommend a local fitness store for equipment to build a home gym with? Most stores I've seen online are out of stock for most things.

Good on you bro, don't worry about the interest as $1000 will be peanuts in interest.

What you should be looking for is no ATM fees and low minimum ($1k). When you force kids to grab cash each time at the ATM (no tap / no debit / no credit card), it creates a sense of value on paper money.

I see kids say "mom just beep another bag of candy for me", they start to think tap is as magic / unlimited source of money. When kids have to actually use cash and see their greenbacks disappearing, financial planning becomes easier to visualize.

Flojet BW5000-010A (most carries the 000A, which is an older version with 1/2 the flow rate)?

It's basically a pump that pumps water from a 5gallon water jug to espresso machine/fridge with plumb in connector.

Any recommendations on a shop to get an OOP inspection done? If it makes a difference it's a JDM import

Doesn't out of canada cars need a different inspection which further narrows down where you can get an inspection? Not just a OOP inspection. Back in the mid 2000's when people bought brand new from the states they were all pretty limited to going to Canadian tire only for the inspection.
