The only outfit I know of is in Golden, if that's not too far PM me.

Anyone have leads on an electrician that is willing to do small jobs?

Need a smart thermostat installed, literally a 15 minute job, just needs to be done by a licensed electrician for liability purposes.

Hondaracer 11-22-2021 03:12 PM

What kind of thermostat? Nest etc comes with their own DIY instructions and it even troubleshoots itself. Even the 240V baseboard thermostats come with DIY instructions I believe. Pretty straight forward

You’re gonna pay more than the thermostat is worth for 10 minutes of work

Mysa, so 240V.

And yes...I know, at first I was like this isn't worth it but right now they're running rebates + BF sale so I figure $wise it's moot.

winson604 11-23-2021 09:10 PM

Ahh yes im running on Mysa'a too, loving it.

So are you just trying to hard-core comply to liability issues because you're living in a Strata or renting perhaps or is there some fear of fucking up?

I did them myself with zero experience doing any electrical work ever aside from changing a light bulb. Semi handy not overly a handy man so really if i managed you can the instructions on the app is insanely easy takes you step by step with pictures. Just make sure you turn off the power

Renting, landlord is adamant. My fault for being a good tenant and asking instead of just doing it haha.

winson604 11-23-2021 11:34 PM

You're a good man! I guess in hindsight if I was the land lord I'd want it done the right way.

Anyone know where I can buy good pre-made falafels? They used to sell decent ones at No Frills & Superstore, but now discontinued.

Superbaba won't give a price discount on bulk orders. Jasmine Fine Foods falafels are meh. I'd rather not make them myself, but it's looking that way.

Are you sure they didn’t move them to different section?

Choices? I've never had their falafels but have had their ready made foods and their stuff is pretty good

premade as in precooked and you just have to re-fry or warm them up?
maybe just buy them from a restaurant and freeze them?

Precooked. That is what I am hoping to do, but I don't know anywhere that will allow me to bulk buy like 50 at a time with a slight discount. Superbaba said I could bulk order, but no discount, so it would be quite pricey.

racerman88 - checked everywhere. They were in the frozen section, so there aren't many places they could have moved them.

whitev70r 12-13-2021 04:18 PM

^ What would be a decent price? Would $7 for 10 be a good price?

Disclaimer, don't know the seller, have never tried but usually some grandma making them at home would be a homerun.

Saw this on Wednesday at Metrotown superstore

Where can I find threaded carbon steel or stainless steel rods of a particular dimension and length?

Looking for a 150mm x M6 length one for a vintage equipment part.

bcrdukes 12-21-2021 10:22 AM

I'm of no help, but inquiring minds must ask if this for a manual lever espresso machine? haha

Fastenal may have these, give them a call. Although I don't know if they do individual orders.

I've purchased from this place and they sell individual fasteners.

i have a PowerAirFryer Oven that is sold at bed bath & beyond and showcase / as seen on TV.

the unit no longer heats up & i suspect it needs a new heating element.

anyone know where i can buy local or online, replacement parts for this unit?

Can’t remember the name of it but there is a small parts store inside of Trail Appliances on Renfrew and Grandview hwy. You can try giving them a call. Might be Reliable parts?

thanks for the suggestion, the grandview one is the one closest, i've bought parts from reliable before, just never thought they'd carry anything for portable appliances but that's worth a shot, thanks guys!

Fixed a few things in the past and finding parts especially in Canada I found was a bitch. Most of the time everything I came across was from some American site. Reliable was usually my best bet locally but never a guarantee. Good luck!

What's the model? I got a new heating element off eBay, from China, within 3 weeks.

For small appliance repair parts, I always check if these guys have it, first:
