locks will stop a dummy from opening your luggage. a simple pen poking through the zipper is enough to get into your shit.

Culverin 05-07-2012 11:39 AM

A travel lock is a deterrent, it definitely won't keep your valuables safe.

It all really depends how desperately a thief wants into your bag.
A lock = 1 more thing to have to go through
A lock = More difficult to "pick pocketed" quick and clean.

A lock won't stop a thief from slicing open your bag or breaking the zipper to get in.

I'd rather have one than not.

And if I was baller, my luggage would be in pelican cases, but the flip side is you'd then be a target.

:okay:

Now...."Where can I buy this locally?"....

Wanderlust on 4th Ave, a block west of Arbutus.

Great shop! I had to pick up a small suitcase the night before my sister's wedding (some Chinese tradition which my mom had put off...) and even though they were closing, they stayed open so that I could pick one up. Not only that, they didn't rush me, and walked me through all of the possible options for luggage.

Senna4ever 05-07-2012 10:05 PM

Yes, I thought the customer service at Wanderlust was amazing too! Some of my staff can learn some lessons from them.....

Yes that's right. With a TSA approved lock (which that one is in the picture) they don't need to break/cut your locks.

b0unce. [?] 05-11-2012 03:10 PM

cheapest place to find plain all white t-shirts. either crew or v-neck. brand/quality isn't a big issue. mainly using them as undershirts.

Does anyone know where to get shipping packages (the envelope type for small article products) in the lower mainland (preferably in Richmond) ?

And also an efficient shipping service to the states for a good price?

Thanks!

You can find these at any canada post locations however they are a bit expensive. I would also assume they provide the best rate or at the least, a very competitive rate.

I went to my local canada post and they were selling each for $5.99/envelope! I thought there would be an alternative others have used (especially those who have sold items on ebay to our neighboring buyers.)

Brutal, but I may have to bite the bullet if that's the only solution.

That's the thing, if you buy in bulk (like 25 of them) I know that staples has them for like 20 dollars. But buying just an individual one is going to suck.

Polar Battery on Boundary in Burnaby. They have different combinations of ring and cable sizes. Also have pure copper ones or tinned copper. Building electrical suppliers also have them but usually look industrial with the squared ends.

I've seen some at dollar stores. Have you tried Daiso or the dollar store on Hazelbridge?
