Is it regardless of whether they're mounted on your car, or if they're in your trunk? |
Bump, I would like to know this too ^ |
One more question to add. Do you declare the value of the tires only or the shipped price?? Posted via RS Mobile |
^ price before shipping in usd |

still need to pay mounting and balancing |

And alterations? Does that mean the tires have to change the manner in which the vehicle operates? I always thought tires were just wear-and-tear items. Hmmm and they mention the word "re-import." I'm not sure if simply driving your car across the border, then coming back counts as re-importing. Sounds like you have to export your car first to count as a re-import. |

And why don't you use the one from Bellingham? 918 Lakeway Drive Bellingham, WA 98229 (360) 647-0583 Looks like they don't have them but may be able to order them... Any specific reason why you use that one instead of the two closer ones? |
Does anyone know what kind of taxes I'm going to have to pay if I buy tires from Discount Tire Co? *Edit: Found out that tires are tax exempt. Excellent. |

Hahaha and you're right, I should specify. No taxes when you buy at the shop but will probably have to pay taxes/duties at the border. |
Looking at both TSB shipping and The letter carrier, TSB is just pure rape if I ship my tires/rims there. Do you guys have any problems the TLC when it comes to shipping tires/rims? Their prices seem very attractive. |

http://www.cob.org/services/business/taxes.aspx Here's the PDF explaining taxes: http://dor.wa.gov/docs/Pubs/ExciseTa...etailSales.pdf Hmm now I'm a little confused. I think if you're shipping you're exempt from taxes but if you're not, you'll have to pay taxes. Did you go the one in Bellingham? |
If it matters, I went to the Discount Tire in Burlington, not Bellingham. AFAIK, BC residents are not exempt from paying taxes in Wa. state. http://www.bellinghamherald.com/2010...exemption.html |

At the time i bought my RT615's from them (February 2010)... the only credit card they accepted from Canadians was American Express. So shipping address was to Pt Roberts and billing address was my home address in Burnaby. |

If so, what was the cost? |
Yea, I had them install it. $16/tire, $64 total. Tirerack has my tires $10 cheaper. I'm wondering if I can call DT and have them price match and return the difference over the phone. |
I just called them yesterday to see if they could order me some tires. Dealt with a guy named "Ricky" who said that he'll call me today morning. I hope he calls back before 12 otherwise I'll have to go follow up. They are backordered until like mid Nov. Lame. Time to call the other three. |
Just FYI, They discount tire co takes into account shipping when price matching. And I ended up ordering form the Burlington store since the Bellingham store said it would be Mid Nov till I got them but Burlington said it would be 3-5 Business days. |

I was quoted 560.10 for all 4 tires + install. I gave them a 50 dollar deposit. Did the tirerack 97/tire match then they included shipping of 12 dollars each. So like 110/tire. |
