As much as I'd like to see those street racing fckers getting their cars crushed, I also think it's just stupid to even waste any time and money in doing this. I mean was there even a need for that bored police to be there getting paid to be entertained? Waste money on some bomb just to see the car get blown? Why not just dismantle the entire car, sell the parts at cheap prices, and give away the money to reputable charities.
I entered my car in the CFOX car crusher event last year. It would have been nice to see a newer car with mods get crushed, yet they chose an older POS that no-one cared about crushing.

I think they're trying to make it a public spectacle as a way to humiliate the owners and make people think twice before they decide to street. A visual negative reinforcement if you will. I don't think they do this to every car, don't they usually auction them off or something?
It's an absolute waste of money that could've gone to much better use. How many sick or starving people in need could've been helped out with the money that would've come from selling these cars off?
Or you meet some girl at the club, cum inside of her, find out shes only in grade 12, so you buy a Prada bag for her to make things right, she finds out the bag is a fake and decides to have the kid

NSFW that shit broski that was disgusting and shocking!!!
Ok. Here is my 2 cents on this video. This video was only made for publicity and I'm calling complete BULLSHIT for the following reasons.
1. the plates were still on the cars. 2 the tires and rims were still on the cars. If you ever go to a real crusher they take the rims off because the rubber isn't supposed to go in the scrap metal pile AT ALL!!
This was a pathetic attempt to invoke a OH SHIT emotion and it failed. I could care less if people get their car taken away for street racing and crushed. You get caught you know the consequences simple. However the blatant disregard for the parts and the value of those parts on the cars pisses me off. They could have funded a lot of anti street racing video's and campaigns with the parts from those cars. I saw a turbo kit, a GSR engine in that first EG and then the rims and shit as well. Easily 10 grand worth of parts could have been taken off those cars before hand and STILL have been crushed and made an example of.
I would be more pissed off knowing the police sold my parts at an auction than knowing they were in car heaven.
It's not exactly ethical to re-sell stolen parts.
It would've taken alot of work just to re-distribute the stolen parts back to thier rightful owners.
As a car guy, yes it hurts to watch. Yes they could've done something better with the cars.
But blame the owners who stole parts and used them to street race.
I'd rather see them get crushed, than wrapped around a pole with a pedestrian pinned inbetween.
They should drop the crushed cars off back in the owners driveway and legally require the car to stay the period of time the owners licence is suspended for. a year?
that way, as the owner walks out his front door to catch the bus everyday, he gets to see his car as a reminder.
Actually SpuGen the police frequently auction off stolen parts in fact they do it regularly. If they can't find the rightful owners of the parts they go to auction. I should know I have bought parts from the auction that the police seized from me. It was quite funny actually because I had some stolen rims seized by the police and then they put them up for auction. I bought them from the auction thereby legitimizing them and having a receipt FROM THE POLICE for the rims that were stolen in the first place.
So yes they do sell stolen items at auction and everything on those cars could have been sold and donated or put to much better use than a shitty shock video that really had a negative impact on the POLICE rather than street racers.
at least there only civic's and integra's but it still someone's car, if it were other sporty cars like an RX-7, Supra etc.. i'd feel bad for the owners
