Flashing
 

What exactly does flashing your phone do? I'm browsing xda-developers for some stuff to add to my HD2 since i've had this thing for a while now but with nothing to do on it, and came across a topic about flashing it.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

flashing it should mean you load up a custom os. The phone itself will still be a windows phone but people would have made tweaks and adjustments to make it run faster/look nicer/etc. You could also flash your HD2 to run android, however I don't really remember the name of the android rom atm.

I've seen roms for android but not really too interested because i've read that it runs better with windows than android.
