Mercedes-Benz Australia has revealed two new vehicles at the Australian International Motor Show: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Night Black and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Concept 358. The aim of these two cars is to highlight the importance of the Australian market and to show that Australia plays a rather significant role in Mercedes-Benz and especially AMG sales.
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Night Black is the first and currently the only SLS AMG in the world to be painted in designo magno (matte paint) Night Black. The matte black exterior finish is accompanied by various red accents on the inside and outside, such as a front grille, air vent fins and various other parts. Mercedes has added its Performance Package Plus. The package consists of the red AMG branded brake calipers adding to the color scheme of the vehicle and a subtle carbon fiber spoiler, as well as a little engine modification. Mercedes doesn’t say to what the power found in the car is boosted to, but we can imagine it to be about 30hp more than the standard 571hp.
The second of these new cars is the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Concept 358, which is based on the C63 AMG Sedan. The most obvious visual change is the new burnt orange paint job, called design Pearl Orange. The Concept 358 is the only C63 AMG in the world to be painted in this unique color. Concept 358 also introduces the AMG Performance Package Plus which lifts power to a staggering 480 hp. Also included in the Performance Package Plus are unique 19-inch multi spoke alloy wheels in black.
At the moment these two cars will only be available on the Australian market but if they receive a warm welcome, AMG may consider selling them elsewhere around the world.
