one of my rims was like that yesterday and after like 2 kicks it came loose

MindBomber 11-21-2010 04:08 PM

I usually spray a bit of wd40 on my lugnuts when I change my oil, and my wheels always slide right off.

Took a couple good kicks, but it eventually came off! I was a little worried since I was just using my spare tire jack. I'm going to have to buy a jack/stands set for next time :p

Yeah, try to avoid doing any sort of work with a spare tire jack. Those things are just sketchy at best. As for the rims sticking to the hub, some people put some sort of lubricant in between when they change their rims, but I don't bother. If it sticks, just kick it again. It's not like you're going to do much damage to anything by doing so.

This happens every year, but usually after a few mins of tugging it'll eventually come off, but this time it won't! Any ideas?! Also, how do I prevent this in the future?

I changed mine yesterday too and one was stuck in the hub. I just took a plastic mallet and banged it out from inside. Couple bangs and its out!

Hope all you guys torqued your lug nuts on correctly to specs.

Don't want those wheels flying off now while driving..;)

I really miss that car, loved it so much

wow..looks nice with proper snows.
my ep3 is running 14" steelies, 175 tires, can barely clear the brake discs...
old rims from my honda insight

My wintermode. Wish I could have gone with 14's, but I can't go smaller than 15's with the BBK.

If I knew about the 14s I would of gotten them from tire rack. But I settled for 205/55/16 which is super tight. Lightly tapped my fender liner earlier ><

Brush some anti seizing compound in the hub hole of your wheels before you mount them.

Reminds me of this slut from highschool.

Huge gap.

TypeRNammer 11-21-2010 08:48 PM

Wow, not that much meat on the tires, at least you slice through the snow/ice better than me :p

oldsnail 11-21-2010 09:01 PM

i do find 14" are a tad small.. and performance wise, isn't so fantastic. but due to the huge gap, less snow gets stuck between the tire and fenders.
