Best conditions ever. I love being blanketed in with fog and snow. It's that or Bluebird. Everything else is mediocre to me.

Edit: So far we got 2, maybe 3 for Cypress on the 19th it seems?

I'll be there. Most likely, unless there's an event or another gathering at another mountain.

Right now is the prime time for filming and contests, as a lot of distro companies are holding events for giving away a lot of sh!t.

BUT yeah i'll most likely be up there. Just have to check my calender

TheSalesman 03-11-2011 10:50 AM

I'm definately going up there today....

Was up there today, zomggg major epic. Just enough fog and snow to scare away a lot of ppl, but still easy to see with goggles on. Awesome snow, saw the cat drag an old van up the run and then they turned it into a jump for tmrs, monster park opening. No line ups at the lifts, best day of the season for me.

omg lol dude it was the exact same today!

went up when it was hailing, and the hail turned into snow. alot of people left by 4pm so stayed up til 830 on fresh pow.. especially on the off course runs such great pow, no waits.

only bad thing was the visibility but it was only really bad for a little while!

JdmProbe 03-12-2011 08:21 PM

Just got back from cypress, was an alright day. wettish powder snowing and super foggy sometimes but then they opened sky chair and the snow was fantastic up there! untouched dry powder and not many ppl.

none in the city.

however the benefits behind learning on the north shore mountains are the operational hours [at the moment] Which are generally from 0900 to 2200 hours.

If you consider the cost benefit behind it, it's cheaper than whistler. You can learn on an area that's focused on consistency [seymours rope tow area, cypress's eazy rider quad chair, grouses rope tow area] then take your skills towards other areas of the hill.

The learning curve on a snowboard is steep, meaning you will feel you can get the hang of it quickly, that is if you're determined, however if you want to progress, the patience and the skill is necessary.

It's a never ending learning sport, but it's worth the effort to gain that reward.

w00t got my bindings fixed and am itching to go. Wanting to try night-boarding during the weekday, but am afraid that traffic going into DT and over Lions Gate will be a clusterf*ck after work hours 5-7pm.
