hey guys sorry if i'm posting in the wrong section. basically last sat our company took us to whistler for a snowboard/ski trip. my co-worker taught me how to snowbaord kinda. right now i have abt 4 hrs of experience at most and wa sable to go do the green run before the place closed down. was wondering if there's any places here where they have a magic carpet like the one in blackcomb where i can jus go up and learn and not have to buy a pass. also my friend wants to rent a board and learn as well. gladly appreciate any help thanx |

Just got back from cypress, was an alright day. wettish powder snowing and super foggy sometimes but then they opened sky chair and the snow was fantastic up there! untouched dry powder and not many ppl. |

however the benefits behind learning on the north shore mountains are the operational hours [at the moment] Which are generally from 0900 to 2200 hours. If you consider the cost benefit behind it, it's cheaper than whistler. You can learn on an area that's focused on consistency [seymours rope tow area, cypress's eazy rider quad chair, grouses rope tow area] then take your skills towards other areas of the hill. The learning curve on a snowboard is steep, meaning you will feel you can get the hang of it quickly, that is if you're determined, however if you want to progress, the patience and the skill is necessary. It's a never ending learning sport, but it's worth the effort to gain that reward. |
w00t got my bindings fixed and am itching to go. Wanting to try night-boarding during the weekday, but am afraid that traffic going into DT and over Lions Gate will be a clusterf*ck after work hours 5-7pm. |
