| Winter Tires
Well its almost time to buy some winter tires for the car.
Now the question where is a good place to go to buy them.
Of course Canadian Tire comes to mind, but is there any place with good prices around?
I am in Burnaby but the place doesn't have to be there.
Any suggestions?

Overseas Auto, Speed Syndicate, Sorat all have great prices and I would trust their work more than Crappy Tire.

Depends what you're looking for.
General Altimax Arctic tires have great rating and cheap price. Moreso they have a great wet weather rating, considering Vancouver gets more rain than snow.
I picked up 4 General Altimax Arctic for $320CND delivered to my door from JC Whitney. This deal is nolonger available, yet Tirerack has them for $72 (for my size, your size may vary): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
They are made in the USA so there is only HST owed if you ship to Point Roberts and bring them over the border.
Cheapest I found them in Canada was $105 on sale at CT at the time, right now they are on sale for $94: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en
That's a pretty good deal, only $50 more than buying from the US, and mounting/balancing at CT is fairly cheap too.

Any sponsors here carry the Nokian WRG2s for a decent price? The boss just got some on the work van a couple weeks ago and they've been great so far in the wet... will be finding out really soon how they are in the snow!
Meantime, the Jeep Patriot needs some new rubber and I've been thinking about the WRG2s there as well - it goes pretty good in the snow with the stock Wrangler SR-A all-seasons, so I'm thinking it should be even better with the WRG2s. Kal Tire quoted me around $1200 mounted and balanced for a set of four (215/65R17).

does anyone make a studded tire in 225/75/15 ?... the nokians and generals don't. those seem to be the current 2 best rated.
that would be pretty dumb if I had to upgrade to 16" winter steel rims and run 15's in the summer and cost alot more.
I think I saw one in 235/75/15 but I don't wana have to change the spare as well. (4x4 need same dia)
