Street cleaning? Hi, City posted signs around my block/ streets that say " Street Cleaning 7am-2pm " and it has a towing picture @ the bottom. So I didn't park on that side of the street last night ' cause I leave the house around 710/715am. Does anyone know how long they "clean" for? It's a big hassle for me to park like 2 blocks away from my building. TIA. :) |
if i were to take a complete guess...id say 7am-2pm... |
Cleaning only takes a minute cause they just drive by with that big truck. However, you are liable to get a ticket at exactly 7am Posted via RS Mobile |
Thanks! Hopefully they're done cleaning by the time I get home today. I meant to say, is it just a 1 day thing or is like like process of over a week? |
It's a daily thing. And you won't know when they have finished or not.. Just treat the sign like a "no parking between 7 and 2". Posted via RS Mobile |
If it's in vancouver then the city will not ticket you. Instead they will simply tow your car around the corner or down the block. So if anyone comes home and your curb is clean and your car is missing then go look around the corner or down the block before you call the police |
some street cleaning trucks just go around your car |

If your in Vancouver this is the yearly leaf street cleaning. Signs will be up anywhere from 1-3 days usually. If your car is parked there they will courtesy tow your car to usually around the block. No ticket or towing fees will be charged to you. |

Thanks everyone! :) |
i am a city worker, and the above statements are true. the signs are posted to give 24hrs notice, when the street sweeper comes, if theres cars still parked there, they'll call the dispatch line and have a "courtesy tow" done. usually we'll have the cars moved to the opposite side of the street, but if its for the street sweeper, they'll probably have it moved completely off the block. its fun working and having to get cars towed, me and my crew had to do some work one day on a small side street, it was emergency work, so we had to get several cars moved asap. we knocked on one door to an older ladys house to ask her nicely to move her car as its right in our dig zone, and she rudely told us "ill move the car when i go to work in a few hours".....okay...fine...ive asked nicely...were just gonna call the tow truck...that time we had it moved to the veeerrrrrrryyyy end of the street...we played dumb when she came out screaming at us asking where her car went...took her a while to find it...probably made her late for work! had she just spent the 2 minutes at 7am to just move the car herself, she wouldnt have been late for work hahaha. dumb bitch! |

Stewie - What department do you work for? Street Ops? Water? Sewer? |
Why don't you just look and see if the street is clean when you get home? |
