shop/storage insurance question

anyone happen to know the legal stuff behind having your car/bike worked on n stored?

my dealer told me their insurance covers all those kinds of things so I don't need storage insurance while they are working on and storing my bike.....

however, their work order clearly states i need insurance.....
and also that:
"I hereby authorize the repair work hereinafter set forth to be done along with necessary material and agree that you are not responsible for loss or damage to vehicle or articles left in vehicle in case of fire, theft or any other cause beyond your control or for and delays...."

they confirmed w/ me their building insurance, business insurance covers all that..... but what do u guys think or know of?

It would depend on the shop it self. Most shops carry insurance through their own policy. Some shops carry something called a Garage policy- which covers vehicles that they are working on. ICBC does offer garage policies to some shops.

When I stored my bikes with Carter Motorsports this year I was told I didn't need storage insurance because their insurance would cover theft, fire and vandalism. I'm guessing it all depends on where the bike is being stored and their insurance policy.
