Rogers: System Access Fee

I'm currently still being charged the $6.95 SAF from Rogers. I've been with Rogers for about 10 yrs now and I negotiated for a new contract early last year. To my understanding all new plans don't have the $6.95 SAF.

Is the $6.95 SAF something I can complain about and have removed?

Any plan subscribed before OCT 1st 2009 will be subject to System Access Fee

and current plan AFTER OCT 1st 2009 will be subject to the GRRF

Because new customers are new revenue they can take from the market. Customers using rogers are already a steady revenue for them. But for those who are loyal to the company, there are always retention plans available. Don't get suckered into the "new activation every contract" method. Build your history with Rogers and they will reward you with better-than-new-customers plan.

Retentions have the abiity to credit the system access chargers. I called them two months ago and they said they couldnt waive it due to my plan structure but credited it back. You'll need to work for it though. If the agent doesnt comply, hang up and try again.

I was told I had to change my plan to get rid of the old charge. Retentions actually offered me a similar plan to what I had with more stuff, but $5 cheaper.
200 DT minutes + 100M for 3 yrs - $17.50
Early evening at 5pm - $2
VM, CID 2500 texts - $10
Unlimited network calling - $0
GRRF - $2.58

Giving me 100 more DT minutes and more texts.
