Advice: Infiniti G35X Thinking of buying a used G35X sedan, any advice on this car? |
fairly solid car, best bang for the buck in its class |
My neighbour has one and he says the power and fun factor it had when it was new, it doesnt have that anymore. He also has a 330xi and he says its fun everytime he drives it and it always puts a smile on his face so i dunno and he maintains both cars pretty well. Personally i havent had experience with nissan so i wouldnt know but personally id get this http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...058564725.html or this http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...059273580.html |
nah, big + on g35x over 330i and a4 |
I think the interior which you'll spend the most time in looks really dated and cheap how about an is250 awd, i think the style looks a lot better both in and out, the rear legroom is my least favorite thing about that car but it might not be a deal breaker. |
200hp car plus awd wheel loss in a heavy car isnt exactly a FUN car to drive |
^ the 2.0T is plenty fun and good on gas.....but that lexus idea is good too if you want too stick to japanese cars, only if they made a TSX-X lol |
the 2.0T is semi ALRIGHTT becuz its boosted and torque comes our early IS250 on the other hand? no comment |
^ its hellaaa fun, my sister has a GLI and i feed it so much shit when i drive it and it takes it lol |
audi 2.0T isnt bad actually... just the reliability is hit or miss. is250. forget the awd. i drove the regular one and i hated it. corolla feels quicker than that thing. G35X, try to get the later models. updated interior. theyre nice cars to own. too bad they didnt offer six speed manual with the AWD version.. regular 2wd version with six speed is a nice comfortable car for daily. |
^ exactly yet im surprise some idiots still buys IS250 or suggests its a solid car solid underpower car, yes |
If you have to go with an AWD, go with Audi. |
yea the power, and the mating of the 2.0t and the dsg is fantastic, and its the combination to get the most out of the motor.. however.. reliability... no comment |

I have an '06 328i which I prefer a lot more just because the sport steering is a lot more sensative and therefore more fun to drive, but if I had to drive a car in the snow, i'd choose quattro over BMW's x-technology any day. Also, BMW is so much more mod-friendly IMO, if you're into that... |
Wasn't the 2006 330i only out for one year before being replaced by the much improved and superior 335i? If I had purchased a new e90 330i I wouldn't have been very happy at all. In this segment my top choice would be 335i but only a coupe, not liking the oem sedan look. If your looking for at the G I would try to find a 2007+. The updated interior is much better in design, build and material. If your really picky, I felt the 2008 actually got a minor downgrade iirc. |
Friend has a G35x (auto though, do these come in standard?). Its a good, solid car for the price but it just doesn't move me or make me want one. |

^ lol so true.....and its not like 3.0 is bad.....its still really quick |

Oh yeah I definitely agree the 3.0 in the 330 is fast, but not 335 fast :) That thing pulls. Anyways difference between 07 and 08 g35 that I looked up: Nav package includes back up camera (was only available on another package before) Ipod hook up added to premium Drivers audio stage (Let's you center your speakers to the driver only) added to premium Reduced available voice commands One less maplight on the moonroof console |
I wish the G35X came in the six speed manual too.... Thanks for all the tips tips. Quote:

You can get a manual with the 2nd gen G35xS though |
i really enjoyed the drive of the g35. The interior is not that bad as everyone says, although its not comparable to other brands like lexus or bmw. The drive was fantastic. The power was great too, even in a high mileaged one. The exhaust note is priceless, and they are reliable. Only thing that is to worry is the ocassional electrical glitches that they have. I am +1 for purchasing one. |
i drove a loaded g35x as a courtesy car before. gotta admit, that thing was fun to drive. infiniti's are pretty solid, reliability wise. for the ones suggesting audi...my buddy's brand new s5 required its waterpump to be changed after 2 months after purchase. =/ |

I'm suprised nobody mentioned a Legacy GT yet, for a 4door awd sedan, I would say definately consider the legacy GT, handles great, decent amount of power. And cheap to maintain. Posted via RS Mobile |
