2011 Subaru STI Review

Not sure if this was posted before, but ran a search and didn't find anything and it's news to me! Dang, I was really considering trading in my car for the 2011's too! No way after these reviews.

They found it to be slower than the older models.

Subaru got upset and made them do it again, but the results were identical.

Yes, It was going north on Boundary, intersecting Kingsway.

Not every car ends up performing exactly the same, maybe they just got a lame duck off the production line. That said the weight diff between the STI and the WRX is huge... 300lbs...

yes... but at the same time u get more LSDs, 1 more gear up top, bigger brakes, maybe some chassis stiffening, etc. etc. well worth the increased weight.

I thought waramp was from the island?

^ THIS!

keep in mind that they use 91 octane instead of 93 on those test runs.

There are lots of speculations that Subaru went with a more conservative tune to counter the infamous piston ringland issues, which plague the 08-10s. Other than the suspension, the car is pretty much untouched since 2010. The only possible explanation is the tune.

If 0-60 & 1/4mile is really your thing, maybe wait till spring/summer when some 2011 owners take their car to track and see if they put better numbers.

I love mine 2011 STI sedan and could careless that the car runs a tenth or so slower...as long as it puts a smile on your face, who cares?

ya! Putting on your winters soon?

I also love my 2011, can't really compare 0-60 numbers to justify buying a car.

still the definition of STi.

ever since they capitalized the "i" shit has been going downhill.

!SG 11-16-2010 05:41 AM

new sti a bit bigger?

ive always found the sti to be a tad snug, but then i find most cars a tad snug =D

bloodmack 11-16-2010 10:19 AM

new evo sucks, just like the new sti. we should all petition to remake 03 evo and 03 sti thats their best years IMO

ummm every generation the EVO always out performs the STi

since 20 years ago it has always been that way

the 04 is definitely the best looking STi

the new ones 08 + is just plain fugly

Im pretty sure the new generation sti out performs the new generation evo (just barely).

tofu1413 11-16-2010 10:51 AM

actually the performance numbers between the cars are the same. LOL

ever since mitsu introduced the rear AYC.. the evo... turns better.
