if anyone wants to go skating there is plenty of ice at hastings and gamma... someone wiped out and took out a fire hydrant and now the intersection has the potential for street hockey

Not really a parking lot but go right to the end of Ioco to the old township/ghost town. Roads aren't going to be cleared down there so there should be some fresh snow to play with.

back in the day when i used to live in coquitlam, coquitlam centre would have been the closest choice, which should be near enough to pt. moody? mall management used to turn a blind eye to people who practice as long as it's "practice" and not trying to be a ken block wannabe until the plows come to clear the lot... not sure what their policy is now.

does anyone know what sfu's policy is during winter in their parking lots these days? again, i used to go up there and practice, and before that when i took my YDOC snow training course it was up there as well. i remember security would come by and say don't do anything stupid and they would have no reason to kick me off the mountain and to be careful and not hit the light poles (aka: pylons )...

Drove by it this morning on my way to work. No ice rink. Couldn't even tell a hydrant was hit as there was no signs of extra water on the ground.
The building next to the Pizza Hut was all messed up. They might have to tear it down as the car hit one of the corners and the roof is falling.
