Also, six in the morning on the #1 is a great time for your windshield wiper motor to seize up.

Well a number of BMWs come with summer tires from the factory, especially when they get the sports package option, and some people don't want to spend the money for winters I guess. So stupid

mos_skeeto 12-20-2013 08:08 AM

I was testing out my snow tires on a steep back lane. (It was empty with no parked cars). From a dead stop (you would usually try to avoid these) I had a rough time getting traction until I turned off traction control.

The EG6 on new Michelin Defenders were great today. Drive safe everyone! Smooth steady traffic on Oak. Everybody going at about 40k/h

Not really racist! 12-20-2013 08:27 AM

avoid Joyce and Kingsway and Renfrew and Broadway.... accidents and traffic

Heads up, Knight Bridge north bound before the Michelle Island exit is iced up, hasn't been plowed yet.

Because we have to make sure our bike lanes are plowed, it's our main priority! The city will stop if the bikers don't have a place to ride!

Pour hot water on it :troll:

turbos86 12-20-2013 09:05 AM

I actually saw a guy riding his bicycle to work this morning.
He rode in the middle of the road, blocking the entire lane. I honked at him to move over but he totally shrug me off. Blew by him when an opening arose.
Half a block later, saw him fell over trying to turn into a lot.
Idiot.

It's moving pretty steady.

North bound there's a snow plow that broke down on the left lane.

there's so many places to buy used tires and it's generally 80-90% tread left :rukidding::facepalm: for those that don't that can't afford/dont want to spend the money on new tires. I don't understand it... even if they purchase all seasons. I still have my all seasons on right now, didn't feel like switching to winters, may still change over though if I'm not going to be allowed up Cypress

radioman 12-20-2013 09:40 AM

Hey Saucy I have summers on. :) Come to chat!

any snow/ice bombs? that new slider tech working on the port mann?

Too early to tell. Snow falling off won't cause damage. If, by any chance, it gets colder, I'm taking the South Perimeter on the way back home.

The day the ice bombs came down last year, I took the Lougheed from Mission. It was just a fluke, because I wanted to go shopping in Maple Ridge for some dumb reason. I would have been crossing the Port Mann at that exact time of day, too.

I'm surprised nobody was injured by them ice bombs.

yeah me and my frozen fingers... i meant 15 inches. i even failed myself after editing my post. i'm basing this on the snow that was coming up past center of my wheels when i dug it out this morning. i'm near kensington mall towards sfu. my parents are on capitol hill and it's not any better.

i was in the lineup that day on the surrey side to cross the port mann waiting in gridlock when i started hearing on the radio about the ice bombs going down on the bridge. my coworker who was with me was getting am780 traffic tweets of pictures people were posting up of the ice bombs falling... everyone was u-turning on the on ramp and making a run for the patullo but that was bad too because two semis in opposite directions were splitting lanes and got stuck as well so no one was getting through either.

That was a painful area to be in this morning. I had to get to the east west connector eastbound but was blocked for 45 minutes because of all the traffic backing up from Knight Street bridge.

If you do some research, you will see that summer tires are better in the wet AND dry than all seasons... which are good at absolutely nothing. You should have a set of summers and a set of winters.
