BFG Mud Terrians?

I had mud tires on my old Cherokee, and even though everyone said they wouldn't be great in the snow, I never had any issues :D

Brianrietta 12-21-2013 01:47 PM

Yeah, BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2s. They're only terrible on ice (like all non-dedicated winter tyres [and some winter tyres] lol). Most of the snow we get here acts pretty much like white mud anyways so it's not surprising to see them perform well in the snow.

no snow this morning, but lots of black ice at 5am this morning. everywhere. especially kensington in bby for me. for those heading southbound from lougheed watch carefully for the del sol with te37s on its roof on your right in the bushes... it's green/teal so it's well camouflaged.

melloman 01-03-2014 07:00 AM

Yup, lots of ice in Burnaby area.. Hit ice afew times on my way to skytrain.

it's unbelievable. i was listening to am980 on the weekend and one of the talk show hosts was recounting how he had to use the blunt end of an axe to break the ice free from his vehicle so he could try to get into it because it was so thick. there is a youtube video somewhere of a guy in ontario spraying his suv with deicer washer fluid and then shatter the ice with his fists :ahwow:

snails 01-03-2014 10:26 AM

so.. is it time for snow tires yet?

adambomb 01-22-2014 02:03 PM

Wow. :woot2:

I actually felt a little heat from that sun today. I was walking down the street and I had to take off my winter coat.

Come on super early spring... :ahwow: :eek5x:

Severe snowstorm expected for Metro Vancouver this Family Day long weekend

:accepted:

Kidnapman 02-05-2014 05:52 PM

Don't get your hopes up mate. It's Vancouver afterall.

MG1 02-05-2014 06:47 PM

The days are not getting longer fast enough, but it was good to see daylight a 5:30 pm.

There is a reason no real weather or news outlet has covered this, because its too early to tell exactly what will happen, and most likely we will see only a few flurries. This is by no means going to be some earth shattering dump of 6+ inches of snow in the DT core.

But a few cm's (or even a trace) of snow already = a severe snow storm in Richmond :troll:

Alerts for: Metro Vancouver - Environment Canada

Not like Buzz is making this shit up.

While it may be too early to predict amounts, EC's exact words are: "...forecasters are confident this storm will greatly impact the South Coast and Southwest Interior."

There is a reason as to why the weather network and AM730 and news 1130 and such do not start reporting alerts immediately. There are tons of these alerts issued for all parts of BC when any large front warm or cold moves in. The only difference here is that there is the words "Snow" used in it, so vancity Buzz can twist it in order to get a lot of hits.

If you go look at the actual weather forecast the latest numbers look like less than 2cm across all of sunday and monday.

StylinRed 02-05-2014 09:08 PM

I wish!

I read that it was going to piss rain instead :/

edit: oh next week! i thought it was this weekend, we're supposed to get some flurries/rain this weekend

Better be the same dumping as 2008, or it's not a snowstorm.
