Maybe I am old and crotchety.. but the guy reminds me of the phrase "Millennials are such snowflakes". So much outrage!
Yes the Comcast guy caused a traffic hazard.. but isn't it the drivers' responsibility to drive at the speed suitable to the weather condition? eg Complaining if your car rear ended the person in front because you didn't leave enough space in front of you?
Pretty sure the video will clear Comcast more than anything. Wide open road, go fast, no snow tires.. Quote:

Pretty sure the video will clear Comcast more than anything. Wide open road, go fast, no snow tires.. | The only complaint I have on the Comcast guys is that they are taking safety for granted.
Yes, people are driving too fast for conditions. There is ice just over the top of the hill and most of the wrecks were caused by the drivers making mistakes and panic braking as well as not having snow tires.
But for the Comcast guys, know that that is happening, it is in their best interest to put out more cones because all it takes is for the black pickup to swerve right instead of left and it is game over for them since they are up high in the cherry picker.

Pallets load of Stifo (10kg) $4.79 at the Coq Canadian Tire for about $5 a bag (looks like they still have 5-6 pallets left in the container and another truck load of bigger bags). No limit, however I don't think people can push anything more than a dozen bags. It looks like there is at least 150 - 200bags / pallet. They just dump them by the pallet at the front door, so just grab them there and pay inside (don't bother looking inside).
The management there is not good. It seems they don't anticipate the crowd (or don't care). The line up is through the front door, the heating will go through the roof for them. The supervisor Marlene? seems slow.. only 2 tills open.
Not sure why people buy salt in 20Kg bags.. you want to spread the salt around, not dump it all on one place. Use your salt strategically!! Also If you dual use your garden spreader, rinse it out or next year you will be scratching your head why your plants are not growing.
Oh MG1: chemical castration with CaCl2.. You still have them but they wither and die within you

Watch out at the Terminal location. I got an elderly friend who thought it was a good idea to show up early and sat in his car at the parking lot minding his own business. They called VPD on him and put him in psych hold.
Admittedly he was weird, but he was 70ish after all.. but I thought it was a bit extreme. Quote:

HD may have called the cops on your friend, which I highly doubt, but for the police to detain him, your friend had to have done something.

Craigslist to the rescue.. and much cheaper too: https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/sear...ate&query=salt
$10 for 20kg is not bad https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/bnc/grd/5918546284.html
I find it hard to justify for the Alaskan brand name.. salt has the same freezing point sure they have fancy colours.. But all ice melters melt ice at the same temperature, you still need to clear the melted puddle after it melted to prevent refreezing. Quote:

No, being weird is not a crime. I chalk it up to lack of sensitivity of the officers.. When you get to be that age, you see things more sentimentally and the stories tend to be rambling and long; eg talking about things you used to do with people who passed away is common. However that kind of talk, tends to set of the spidey senses of police officers especially inexperienced ones who might get stuck on a bad shift (not to mention towards end of a shift too!).
I also understand the problem with Terminal HD management too, since it is a pretty high crime area. It is better to call it in be safe than sorry than to send an employees in harms way.. especially at a dark parking lot.
Language is not an issue, since he was Canadian (worked for a previous generation of developers who built Vancouver). I just think perspectives were just different and misunderstanding. HD called VPD about someone in the parking lot. VPD showed up and my friend tried to regaled them of tales of the past, thought he was making friends etc. VPD officier deemed it is better to bring him in to St Paul's.. Quote:
